3 days ago, a number of my files kept on an external Seagate Hard disk got converted and transferred (without me authorizing) into a new file named "File History/Thiru/ DESKTOP-5T1IEP1/Data/$OF/ " into :

a) folders renamed into numbers, i.e. 31, 129. etc

b) files renamed, eg an excel file renamed "30268 (2017_12_28 12_04_07 UTC)"

I am not sure how it happened but it I would like my files back into the original

folders and under their proper names.

Can you help?

Thank you,

trmaniam

Cox has notified me that my email account that is used via windows live ports must be updated for security purposes. A cox tech support agent guided me through updates and now i cant receive emails.

My incoming server is pop therefore I cant remove the email account and re add without losing all my emails.

When I try to send myself an email, it appears in sent mail however not in inbox.

Cox refer me to Windows tech support as my cox  email works well on their site implying issue is with windows live. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

My PC disk was damaged and I lost all my installed programs.  I do, however, have full backups of all my data.

I re-installed Windows 10, Office and the rest, but now Microsoft says that I cannot download Windows Live Mail any longer.

If that is the case, how can I recover?

All my Windows Live e-mail messages are in a backup file, which I must transfer to another e-mail client.  How do I do that?

Alternatively, where can I get a copy of Windows Live Mail, so that I can at least restore my e-mail and then transfer it to another e-mail client.

I have Windows 10 Live email client.

It won't let me change or delete an old email address that keeps coming up when I click on "To:" in a new email.

Further it won't pick from the Live Contacts for the correct email address.

Also I can't save an email address off of an email to contacts.

HELP!!

When I had Windows 10 re-installed [because re-start failed], I soon found that Windows Live Mail (which I have long enjoyed) disappeared. Then a kindly soul (Bruce Hagen MVP) sent me a link (from Web Archive). It is supposed to install Windows Essentials 2012.

I was overjoyed and rushed to install.

Unfortunately, the installation (using MS Edge) proceeded to about 18% and stalled. It asks you to try again. I did but it stalled again, nearly 8 times.

I should be most grateful for the road to a successful installation.
