I'm using Live Main in windows 7.

There is an email i can not delete. I've tried repairing windows essentials,  I've deleted it from my server's website. I've also right-clicked it and marked it as unread. Nothing works and any help would be greatly appreciated.

When i try to delete it live mail freezes and i get an error message with these details:

Yesterday I received an email from Microsoft saying my email account may have been compromised, so I went through this big process to validate myself.  Now I can't send email to myself.  After I click send, I go up to the send/receive button and when I click that I get an error message that it can't do it, and I need to go to hotmail.  I didn't have to do that before.  Does anyone know the solution?

I have no elements of Windows Essentials on my computer, and no traces, yet, each time I try to download Movie Maker as part of the Essentials, the box tells me that I have One Drive, Mail, Writer, Messenger, Photo Gallery and Movie Maker!  I have checked the computer additionally with Iobit Uninstaller and  Bulk **** Uninstaller, and there's nothing there!  I have also checked the AMD and virtually everything else that could prevent the download.  My PC is a 6 months old HP desktop and I have no problems downloading anything except Movie Maker.  Some assistance would be gratefully appreciated.

I converted from 7 to 10 and live photo gallery works for me, but my wife converted from 8.1 to 10 and it is not available on the all programs list. If I try to install it, it says it is already installed. If I delete the entire live suite and reinstall, I wind up in the same state, (not available but claims to be loaded).

Hi Vicki,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

I would like to know some information.

  1. Which browser do you use?

  2. Are you using internet explorer and downloading photos from IE?

  3. Which operating system is installed on your computer?

You may refer to the steps given below to change the default location.

a. Open Internet Explorer.

b. Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner, then click on View downloads. (See screenshot below)

NOTE: You could also press CTRL + J instead.

c. Click on the Options link.

d. Click on the Browse button.

e. Navigate to and select the folder that you want IE to use as the default download location, then click on the Select Folder button.

f. Click on OK.

g. Click on Close.

Hope this information helps. Please let us know if you need any other assistance with Windows in future. We will be happy to assist you.

It's still pulling up that Windows Live Photo Gallery as well as putting the picture into my downloads file.

I was trying to fix something else when this all started and I remember I was clicking at the bottom of the screen (where the choices come up "Toolbars, cascade windows, etc." and I remember come screen came up and it had pictures library choices and one of the boxes you could click said you wanted to put your photo into the Windows Live Photo Gallery and I clicked by that box and now the window comes up whenever I download a picture.

I need to find that box back so I can unclick it.

I have recently migrated a client to a different email hosting company.  There are 4 users sharing the same email account and using Windows Live as the Client email.  After the migration, their email is not saving to the server and only going to one workstation.  IS there a setting in Windows Live that I need to check to get the emails to stay on the server allowing all users access? They are using IMAP, not POP3.
