Windows Live Mail 2013 needs update according to Microsoft in order to keep functioning.
Question:

I received the following message:
Dear user,
In a few weeks, we will be making some changes to our email services that might impact your @outlook.com, @hotmail, @live, or @msn email account. Those changes will prevent your email from being delivered to the Windows Live Mail 2012 application you use.
In order to continue using Windows Live Mail 2012 to send and receive email for your account, you need to install the latest update published here.
I went to the page and downloaded from this page https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=49486, and installed. Now the service does not function I get this email error message: Server Error: 0x80004005
Server: 'https://m.hotmail.com/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x80004005
I have 2 other machines that with Windows Live Mail that I have not done downloaded to and I receive mail accordingly. This download did something and what I do not have an answer. System restore does not work.
In advance, thank you.

I received the email that I need to update Windows Live in order to continue using it. I installed the update and my email stopped working. It came up with a box and asked if I wanted to debug it which I tried a couple of times.
I finally removed and reinstalled the program and it is now working fine.
My questions is, do I need to try the update from the email or was it installed when I reloaded?
I am currently running on Windows 10 if you need that info.
I have a live.ca email, use it for all my regular email. I use Windows Live Mail (2012) desktop client. I use Windows 7 64-bit if that matters.
A few years ago I used the same email to make an account with Google, for accessing YouTube and Google Web Tools. I selected a nickname, "Max Power", for immature YouTube comments.
So what's been happening for the past few years, every few emails I send my name appears as Max Power, not my actual name. This confuses people.
I access the Google stuff in a browser. All email is done through the client. Not sure how my Google nickname is overwriting my real name! I've reinstalled Windows Live Mail several months ago, I haven't used Google in a long time, and it still persists.
Any way to repair my email name? Thanks!
On Friday I received several messages (one each to my hotmail and outlook accounts) to say that I needed to install a Windows fix to Hotmail Live Essential for it to continue working following a change that Microsoft will make to the Outlook mail service in the near future. The messages pointed to this site http://communication.microsoft.com/Key-6859401.C.rv22.N.K4.-.nFwJQdB which redirected to https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=49486 This appears to be a perfectly genuine Microsoft site referring to a fix KB3093594
However having applied fix this I now get the messages below for all my hotmail and outlook email addresses.
Have I been conned? and if so how can I recover from it?
Server Error: 0x80072EE7
