How can I access icons/files after installing Windows 10?
Hi. I installed the required update for WLM 2012 on my Win 10 machine and it's been quite a hassle. After I first installed,  WLM would open then immediately crash. Based on a suggestion I saw on a google search, I set WLM to run in Win8 compatibility mode. That solved the crashing problem, but now every email I open has a security warning header, and most don't include images. I've been hitting the "add to safe sender's list" but next time I get something from the same sender it's still the same. I looked in the Safety Options, but didn't see anything that would fix my problem, except for Low Security or No Filtering. That seems a little extreme, I'd like to get back to my previous experience (prior to the KB3093594 update) Does anybody know how?

I am trying to create a time-lapse video with photos shot from a tripod every 30 seconds, all with the same settings. When I import the sequence of photos some of them import to fill up the whole screen and some of them randomly import with black bars on the sides, causing a jumpy, zooming in and out effect.

I have tried everything I can think of to fix this. There doesn't seem to be any answers online anywhere that I can find. I want my video to be in the widescreen aspect ratio, but I have tried switching back and forth from this to standard and back, but neither of them works - the photos, even though they are all exactly the same dimensions, taken with the same settings, still vary as to how they are imported. I also tried saving the WMM file to an .MP4 to see if this was just the way the program previewed the images, but the jumpy, zoomy effect still happens in the exported version. I have noticed that if I delete the images that have the black bars and re-import them, sometimes they will come in properly to fill up the screen. However, if I do this, save the WMM file, shut down and come back to work on it later, many of the images change back to randomly having black bars on the side.

I can post a link to an example .MP4 file if necessary. Thanks in advance for your help with this!

The patch to upgrade Windows Live Essentials 2012 is named "d-mail.msp".

This will not run or open.  This file also is not in the windows 7 known file extensions so I could not associate this extension to Windows Live.

How can I install this patch?

Thanks for any input,

Henry

I want to export my flags, or flagged photos to another service

or since essentials seems like a program that is going away

I have seen the posts on this subject and they are the typical reinstall, try this, etc.  I'd like to see something more definitive.  I didn't see where these suggestions solved anyone's issue, although I may have missed it.

I am referring to the following email (see excerpt):

"In order to continue using Windows Live Mail 2012 to send and receive email for your account, you need to install the latest update published here."

Restoring the system to the previous check point removes the issue, but it, of course, also removes the patch.  Does anyone have a suggestion?  I am running WLM 2012 Build 16.4.3528.0331.  I can't find anything on Microsoft.com about the current build.

Thanks.

I've just received notification from Microsoft that they will no longer support Windows Live Mail 2011 but  if you have Windows Live Essentials 2012 you can continue to use it if you install the latest update which they publish. As I'd like to continue using Windows Live Mail (whatever version) wouldn't it be possible to upgrade WLM 2011 to WLM 2012 and then just install the latest update over that? Would my data and configurations be saved as is?

Thank you,

Hi,

I just installed the Update for Windows live (KB3093594), tried installing it after having uninstalled my current Windows Live, and received this error:

"The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be upgraded  exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade patch."

Could anyone tell me how I can re-install my Windows Live Mail and get this update installed?

Thanks,

R
