Can I set a delay before message is marked as read (other mail programs allow this).

Hi, I'm currently trying to change the location of the Storage Folder in WLM 2012 running on Win7-64. This a new install, the accounts are not yet defined so the default folder contains no messages for now and is located on my SSD system reserved partition. I want to change that location to an alternate data oriented mass drive. I have created the folder and set full control permissions over the folder for basically any entity on the machine. Using the process in WLM 2012: Options -> Mail -> Advanced -> Maintenance -> Storage Folder, I select my folder using the dialog but pressing OK once the folder is selected and its name is displayed in the dialog has not effect, that is, the dialog stays there and hangs and will only react to Cancel or Close thereby refusing to confirm my change of the location. Some informational or error message from the application would be useful at that point but instead the user is served with the perfect void of galactic space ... Closing, rebooting, etc doesn't solve anything.

So first, what am I missing here ? And second, is there any particular folder structure that I should pre-define under my alternate storage folder ? And finaly, will all my messages be stored on that folder once properly assigned or will some still remain on the default folder location (either the Outbox, etc) ?

I have looked all over the Net for this for hours and nobody else seems to have this issue. I cannot leave the default folder to be used by Live Mail because once my email accounts are defined, the IMAP logics will trigger a download of thousands of email messages from the server to my machine flooding my system reserved partition. Not acceptable.

Thanks in advance for anyone providing welcome wisdom on this.

I have successfully exported my Windows Mail messages from my old Vista PC.  I copied those messages from my desktop to a thumbnail drive.  I attached the thumbnail drive to my new Windows 10 PC with Windows Live Mail.

When I attempt to import those messages into Windows Live Mail the import function tells me it cannot find any messages.  I have properly selected the folder containing the messages when I performed the Import.

I can click on the any of the messages on the thumbnail drive and Windows Live Mail will display the message so there is no problem with the messages I exported and transferred to my new PC via the thumbnail drive.

Any suggestions?

How do I burn a CD from the photo gallery

Hello...

I use “Windows Live Mail 2012 on “Windows 7 Home Premium”.
I installed the update recommended in the second paragraph of the email sent to me on Dec. 11,2015 (shown below).

Now...instead of showing who I sent an email to, I have my name showing in the “TO” column

How do I get back to seeing the name of the recipient of my emails in the “To” column and not my name?

Also, the “account” column of my “msn” sent emails is now blank...it use to say "msn"...but my main concern is seeing who I sent an email to.
Thank you for your time!

Dear user,
In a few weeks, we will be making some changes to our email services that might impact your @outlook.com, @hotmail, @live, or @msn email account. Those changes will prevent your email from being delivered to the Windows Live Mail 2012 application you use.
In order to continue using Windows Live Mail 2012 to send and receive email for your account, you need to install the latest update published here.
If you use Windows Live Mail 2012 on Windows 8, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10, we recommend that you switch to the built in Mail app in Windows to stay connected and get the latest feature updates on Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10.
Windows Live Essentials 2009 and 2011 are not supported anymore, and you will need to update to Windows 8/8.1 or Windows 10 and use the Mail app, or use www.outlook.com. To learn more about the Mail app, please click here.
We also recommend all Windows Live Mail users on Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 to upgrade to Windows 10 and use the built in Mail application to stay connected and get the latest feature updates.
We suggest saving this email so you can refer to it later.
Thanks for your understanding and continued use.

After assembling a movie from a camera card and saving to a hard drive the saved movie will not open unless the camera card is still in its reader. Any suggestions?

I'm running Windows 10 on a desktop and rely on Windows Live Mail for all personal message functions, including archiving messages in local storage folders.  After downloading the latest update KB3093594 the application stopped functioning correctly.  I consulted this forum, and following suggestions here, backed up my storage folders, un-installed Windows Essentials, then re-installed, then applied the latest update patch.

I had three days of correct operation and saw improvements I liked.  Now, the application has ceased to download new incoming messages.  I can see them in the W10 Mail application but they do not appear in Live Mail.

I tried re-applying the update, opting for the repair, then when that did not work, I applied the repair procedure from Control Panel.  No luck.

What can I do to fix this problem?

I got the email to update Windows Live mail a couple weeks ago and did so.  Everything was working fine until Monday afternoon when it apparently stopped getting new messages from my main Hotmail account (I've had this account for 20 years - EVERYTHING is tied to it).  I have no problems SENDING messages via WLM and WLM is having no problems receiving email from my second Hotmail account or my Gmail accounts.  I am not getting an error message.  I simply get told there are no new messages on this account.  But there are.  LOTS of messages.  I need them on my PC, not out on Outlook.com.  Help!

Original Title: WINDOWS LIVE EMAIL

I have a desk top which has the windows live email.  Last October or so, I got a lap top, and have been unable to get the windows live email.  I do not like the format of any of the other emails out there, and was wondering if you could provide a link for me to get the same windows live email I have on my desk top.  Your help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanking you in advance.
