Here is my story: we have a custom domain for personal (family) use and the e-mail is hosted by hotmail/outlook.com/live.com. Managing a custom domain is no longer supported by Microsoft. This is okay with me - but of course I'd rather see another offering by Microsoft for this scenario (other than the current push towards a rather expensive 0365 plan for this purpose).

When this end-of-support was announced I took the liberty too create the accounts for my children who are now 6 years old and therefor almost ready to start using their accounts (and e-mail). Needless to say the accounts have not been used so far.

Now I am working on their new WIN10 tablets for under the Christmas tree. And of course I would like to start using their own accounts now combined with the Microsoft Family setup. For one of the kids this works perfectly since the password I had assigned back than worked perfectly. For the other kid unfortunately I do not remember the password - I thought the password was the same but maybe I have mistyped it back then.

Now Live.com is offering a recovery plan where you can provide all kind of information that will help determine the rightful access to to the account. But the information required is all based on e-mail usage and this functionality as not be used yet. therefor I do not have information about e-mail addresses and subjects in regard to sent e-mail and/or what custom e-mail folders have been created. Leaving the information blank is not allowed and submitting some other data will result in a (automated) message saying they cannot find enough proof that the account is mine/ours.

Lastly - I think the O365 is great and we do use it within my Company. But like i said, this offers way more functionality than we need and with all the family members (parents, children, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces) this is rather expensive.

And while we are at it - I would also like to buy the Microsoft Groove for the my wife, children and myself, but not until there is a family Plan that is comparable to what the competition is offering.

Great holidays to all of you and hopefully 2016 will become the year of the great comeback for Microsoft in the mobility play field!

Hi,

I have just been forced to upgraded from outlook express to Window Live Mail due to it not being available on Windows 7.

I am finding it hard to read the 'From', Subject, Date... etc of inbox messages as the font looks squashed and small.

How do I change the font to make it look easier to read like the font in Outlook Express for XP was.

Thanks

After installing the compatibility update, KB3093594, Windows Live Mail no longer downloads all my E-Mail.

I will get alerted that I have received some, however it can take a good five or six hours before it shows up, if at all.

Conversations are off, and manually syncing doesn't change anything.

If I uninstall and re-install Windows Live Mail, it works fine.

How can this be fixed?
