Hello, MS forums.
Recently, my Movie Maker just stopped working out of nowhere. I suspect this "registry cleaner" application I mistakenly used screwed it up. I've tried many of the popular threads on this error code (including this one) and I've found two temporary workarounds.
1. Create a new profile on Windows and launch Movie Maker there. I suspect I may have corrupted my current user, but transferring all of my files still doesn't keep many of the settings I want and I'd rather just wait until I get a new SSD to do so.
2. Find moviemaker.exe, right click and choose "troubleshoot compatibility" and let it automatically choose under recommended setting "Windows XP Service Pack 2" and launch movie maker from there. When I do so, it launches up normally. However, whenever I try to save this setting, it gives me the error:
But, right-clicking moviemaker.exe and selecting properties and going under compatibility, it seems that I already have WIndows XP Service Pack 2 enabled.
So normally opening Movie Maker doesn't work, but going through "troubleshoot compatibility" does even though they're the same setting?
My question is if any of you guys know how to "fix" Movie Maker so that it starts up fine without having to a. create a new user or b. keep using the "troubleshoot compatibilty" option. Maybe if there was a fix for the "Restricted" error code I am getting when I try to save that setting, then I could launch Movie Maker normally? I realize I'll probably need to share some logs, so just tell me what to post and I'll do so. Thank you :)

I worked on a movie maker file for several days, and today when I tried to do final edits the file simply wouldn't open: Movie Maker claims the file is corrupted. Is there any way to fix this issue?

Any help will be MASSIVELY appreciated.
I am using Windows10 and I have a virgin email and a gmail account set up in Windows Live Mail which have worked well up to now, but now whenever I click to create, reply or forward an email I get a dialogue box saying....
"A problem occurred while trying to open this message.
A problem has occurred. Please try again."
I am receiving emails ok for both those email accounts, and I can send ok when I login to those accounts online, so I guess it must be something to do with Windows Live Mail. Also my old non-default Outlook email (2007 version) lets me send and forward emails ok too. I prefer Live Mail so would like to get it working again.
By the way, when my wife logs-on to the same computer, her Windows Live Mail works perfectly. As far as I can see there are no different settings on her email accounts.
Please can you help me solve this issue?
Regards,
A very frustrated Phil

photo gallery keeps 'encountering a problem' it then either restarts or closes and I am rapidly losing the will...
I went to through to a technician 7 times yesterday through live help, the first disappeared, the 2nd remotely controlled my laptop told me it was doing a scan would restart and be cured - the scan found no errors didnt restart and I lost the technician as a result. The third remotely accessed my laptop and restarted it in 'safe mode without networking' and with no warning - it took me 30 mins to find out how to restart normally. I lost him as a result too. The next 3 'lost the connection' and the 4th I ended myself, by then I had been messing with it for over 5 hours. Today I tried again, the first technician said my notes said the problem had been resolved and promptly ended the chat, the second told me to reset my laptop and reboot windows 10 from a usb, i tried to perform the reset twice but there was an error and it didn't work.
Can somebody please help??? my issues only started after changing to windows 10
