I can't get Windows Live Mail to install.

I get the following error message:

Couldn't set up the installer.

Error:  0x8104000d

The error message references several issues and fixes. The closest I found was 0x8104000b (not connected to internet).

I've tried the recommended fix along with several others but got the same result.

Any suggestions?

I'm running Win.7.  After trouble with a file that my A/V prog found and removed, plus Plug-Ins, but still left an undesirable that wasn't listed in Control Panel I attempted a System Restore. It went thru the process and on re-opening says its hadn't been successful. I re-tried several times and with older dates, but same results.
After many run-around red-herrings one outcome was that when trying to re-install Win.Essentials 2012 it failed at ~48% whilst at Messenger, some times saying Try Again, sometimes saying it couldn't install whilst another prog (or download -?)  was still ongoing.  I went thru this cycle  several times, sometimes for just selective progs in Ess'l, (MM and Photo Gallery,) sometimes for all Ess'l progs, - same result. Still never completed.
Finally I went back to a 'Undo Restore' point and now have Win.Live Mail, Ph.Gallery and Movie Maker back in the prog list but the latter is not working and comes up with 'Directory name is invalid' - but no code given.
I suspect I'm short of some Plug-In, Add-On, or DirectX (whatever that is, - I saw it ina list,) but dont know how or where to start on these aspects.
Please advise.

After installing Windows 10 my Windows Live Mail has a partly black screen. When I scroll the email list everything is overwritten, same if I move an email or delete an email. I encountered the problem before Windows 10 and it was an update which I could uninstall. Now I cannot find any solution to my problem. I cannot find the offending update anymore. I exported my email and the folder is 9GB big!! Please help me to fix Windows Live Mail.

There is audio but no video when I use Windows MOVIE MAKER.

Does anyone has a fix for that?

There is an email in my deleted items folder which i suspect to contain a virus. I have tried to empty the folder or completely delete the folder but i keep being told to rebuild the database. this does not happen when i open any other folder or send emails.

I have tried rebuild the database and also set up a new identity but the problem is still there.

I have also tried to export the data so I can set up a new outlook but the rebuild message shuts this down.

Any suggestions?

Hi

Had to set up a new windows 10 account due to multiple problems.

I'm now having problems with Windows Live Mail 2012.

It will let me send e-mails which I can receive on my old Windows 10 account but I cant receive them on my new account. Its says theres a problem with the password. Cant say its definitely correct but it shows  I am signed in. Is there any way to retrieve my old password from my old account?? to make sure this is not the problem. Have checked all the settings from the old account and have entered the same information in the required boxes.

Thanks again

I'm trying to locate the folder containing the email directory with my email files on my MacBook Pro, but i can't find it.

I use Outlook for Mac 2011, and my email account is an Outlook 365 (old Exchange) email account.

Many thanks for your direction!
