The email from the team states "If you currently use Windows Live Mail 2012, we recommend that you switch to the Mail app in Windows today. The Mail app is built in to Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. To begin using it, simply launch the app and add your Outl‍ook‍.‍com account."

If it is already built in how do you re launch it? It doesn't sound very simple. Is this a scam? Microsoft support have not been helpful in responding to queries on this email.

Can anyone shed any light on this matter ? Or if it is not a scam how do you find and launch the app and add your account?

My laptop unexpectedly upgrade to Windows 10 (from Win 7) today, without my permission.  Now I cannot open my Windows live Mail account.  Says "Your Calendar contains corrupt data that is forcing Windows live to close (0x80070057).

No other suggestions.  I tried repairing the program and it goes through 100% but immediatley a pop-up says that there is no internet connection (though there is) and the process locks up.  No other options.  Restarted PC and no help.

Please help!  Is there anything I can do?

I have Windows Live Mail calendar set to deliver email reminders to me, with the amount of advance notice stipulated, but the advance notice period is not being observed.

For example, I have a fortnightly recurring event, set for 6 AM, which I have set to email me at five minutes notice.

The event does trigger every fortnight, but the email is always sent 24 hours in advance, at 6 AM the day before (give or take a few minutes), instead of at 5:55 AM on the day of the event.

Please advise.

I changed to Comcast as my internet provider and can not get it to work. Comcast says it is a Windows Live problem.

My Windows 10 crashed earlier this week and after resetting it, my Windows Live Mail account and files seemed to be lost.  I was able to set up the Windows Live Mail account again and my address book was still there, but not my old emails on file.  Is there some way to bring my old emails back?  Step by step would be appreciated.  I'm not real good at this stuff.  Thanks much.
I am using Windows Live Mail 2012, but it seems like I'll have to make changes by the end of June. I saw in some of the information from Microsoft that you may not have a problem if you are using POP3. I would like to keep on using Live Mail 2012 if I can because I use the folder option all the time. Will I have problems or can I stay with 2012?

How to import into newly installed outlook 2016 all folders from Windows Live mail.

At the moment I access emails etc via Livemail 2012. I know soon that this will no longer work. I do not wish to upgrade from Windows 7 so the Mail App option is not viable. Nor do I wish to purchase Outlook 2016. Mainly because I already have both the 2010 and 2013 Office suites. Will Livemail synchronise with either Outlook 2010 or 2013 after the change?
