Old title: Windows 10 Windows Live Mail
Is it true that Live Mail for Windows 10 is unable to send group emails or am I just doing something wrong?
It send to some, misses most, and sends only to me!
My MS Outlook 2011 software still hangs when syncing with servers. My Inbox has over 30K unread e-mails now because of a timing issue between my trashcan and my inbox. When I 'delete' an e-mail in Outlook, it doesn't delete it, but moves it to the trashcan. When my folders sync with gmail (for example) the server sees that I don't have an e-mail in my inbox, so it sends me another copy - which I have to delete again. My trashcan can't keep up, and the whole thing hangs.
This is not the first time I've had trouble with this program. I can't believe I haven't moved on by now!
Late last year I experienced the phenomenon where the "arrow button" in the top left would not respond or allow access to the drop-down menu. Hours of research and no help led to a full, clean install of Windows 7 It actually took TWO clean installs (one in December & one in February to finally fix the problem.
NOW... a problem with not being able to get Windows updates led to many more hours of research. My conclusion was that it was linked to the .NET Framework 4.6.1 update. So... a THIRD clean install this week!
I made sure NOT to download the .NET Framework 4.6.1, and reverted to .NET Framework 4.5.2
Everything seemed to be working fine... Until... I opened Windows Live Mail. Not only is the drop-down button in the top left inactive, the whole UI looked completely different. Add to that many other buttons aren't working either, like Import my contacts? (I saved them as both a .VCF and an Excel spreadsheet. It doesn't matter though, because nothing happens when I press those buttons? Or... should I say "happened"! Bothe the Import & Export button have mysteriously disappeared?
Last time I had this happen, I spent 90 minutes on the phone with a Microsoft "tech". He assured me he could fix it for something like $159 US Dollars TODAY. If I waited for another day, it would e in the $250 range. What kind of **** is this. I've tried every fix, I've uninstalled and re-installed twice now. I guress this is probably too much for ANYONE to answer? Thanks Microsoft!
I am sending emails that are perfectly typed yet when they reach the other end there are many typos (letters missing from a number of words.)
I just cc'd myself on and email and was shocked to compare the version in my Outlook sent box and what arrived at the other end.
I originally posted this as an add-on in the Community to a person that had the same issue using Windows 7 (different IP).
I recently built a new computer and loaded Windows 10. Since I used Window Live Mail on my old Windows 7 computer I downloaded Windows Essentials that has Windows Live Mail 2012. Based on help received from the Community I was able to export/import emails and folders from old computer to the new build.
Windows Live 2012 on the new build works perfectly receiving incoming emails. However, when trying to send an outbound email, either by creating a new email or using forwarding, the email goes to the Outbox and will not send out. The message I'm getting in the pop-up window is:
The connection to the server has failed.
Server: smtp.comcast.net
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 25
Secure (SSL): No
Socket Error: 10060
Hopefully, someone has a solution.
I have windows live mail in my windows 10, everything is working fine now, except, my outgoing e-mail, is stuck in the outbox. I don't know how to get it out of there and on it's merry way. This is really beginning to "tick" me off.
Any ideas?
Live Mail stopped working so I Uninstalled it. I have now downloaded the file wlsetup-web.exe and tried to run it but the PC states Live Mail is already installed.
Any ideas on how to re-install Windows Live Mail please?
