Question about Outlook Express

I've read and reread your article about the work around of sending a mailing to a category of recipients, but I cannot seem to find a place to create the category in the first place. They simply say Open Windows Live Mail and go into your contacts. I cannot see a place to open my contacts. I have checked out each of the menu items and still don't see it. I can opne a new e-mail message and when I click the "To" link, the contacts opne, but there is no place to create the category there in the first place. The only thing I have done, which is a pain, is to open a new e-mail and manually choose the recipients. I can save that as an *.eml document that I can open up, but how do I create a list that can be changed on an ongoing basis? Thanks for your response.

8/1/2016 - I am attempting for the last week to sign-on via the web (IE 11) to windows live account.  The logon screen begins to blink/flash a few times.  I then get an error message: "Something went wrong and we can't sign you in right now. Please try again later".  This happens repeatedly for the last 7 days.  How do I resolve this?

I have Windows 10 with Windows Live Mail 2011 and I'm continually getting this message...

"There was an error when attempting to connect to the Windows Live Calendar...check for an upgrade to Windows Live mail."

Should I ? If so, how do I do it?

Updated to win 10 with no problems.  Then decided to revert to win 7.  After starting WLM  2011 using win7 had the following problems.

1. Doubled the number of emails in deleted folder but half of them had no message.  Those with more than 2 emails under same ID line could not be deleted.  "Empty Deleted Folder"  would not work.

2.  Two sub-folders had not message for each email and it could not be deleted.

Worked with MS level 1 Technician for over an hour problem could not be resolved.

I've had problems with WLM even before I upgraded to win 10.  Lots of times WLM won't open and neither will any programs.  I tried to repair windows essentials but it told me there was a problem with my internet connection and couldn't get downloads.  It seems the problems have gotten worse since I got win 10, any suggestions?

Last week some pop up program started a scan and told me there were problems with my laptop.  I knew I could fix most with disk clean up but they had about 5 entries from the registry.  I did take a screen shot of them but I know nothing about the registry and I know even less about the software that was running, I don't trust it.  Again any suggestions.

Oh, things usually start working again after I do a restart but I don't thin k I should have to do that all the time, I never did before.  It's WLM, it's a pain in the u know where.

You see, I have a computer that has 22GB's of memory and Windows took up nearly all of it, I have 2 GB's left and I want to make some videos with movie maker but My computer's memory is very limited. So can it or can it not? Also I am wondering what kind of external memory should I get? I have none at the moment and I am willing to buy up to $80.
