Hi,

My Junk Email filter seems to be too aggressive - it puts around 20 of my legitimate emails into Junk folder.

Moreover, it's doing it over and over again. I'm setting the emails as not-junk, they're moved to Inbox, and the next day they're moved back to Junk email folder.

I'm using Outlook.com over IMAP if that helps.

My set up signature contains a graphic.  When I open my email to send, the picture goes leaving text only.  Help!

Hi -

I have Outlook 2011 running on my Mac (running Mavericks). I have it set up with Gmail over IMAP.

I am using IMAP IDLE and I can receive and send emails. My issue is largely around when I close (quit) Outlook. I have a schedule set to send and receive all on quit but whenever I quit it just closes without doing any kind of sync. So if I make changes to my Inbox content and quit Outlook before they sync, then my changes are not synced to the server. When I have used Outlook at work previously (albeit with MS Exchange) when I closed Outlook, it would do a sync before closing. Any ideas what might be wrong?

I also wanted to distinguish the behaviours for different types of sync:

 - If I mark an email as read, would this be considered as part of 'Send/Receive All'?

 - If I delete an email as read, would this be considered as part of 'Send/Receive All'?

If I hit the Send/Receive All button then it will sync the above type of changes but it does not do it automatically on quitting Outlook.

The other issue is that if I mark an email as read/delete an email, these changes take a long time to sync via IMAP IDLE - anything I can do to improve this?

I have highlighted my two issues/questions just in case it gets lost in the detail. :)

Hello, I have a problem with Outlook 2011 for Mac. I am using three devices (MacBook, iPhone and iPad) and although Outlook is downloading received e-mails perfectly, the e-mails sent from iPhone or iMac are not downloaded at all. Any idea what should I change? I am using POP3 protocol as IMAP is not my favourite option. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I need to know if anyone has had the problem where you can only send files from Outlook but can't receive. I've tried everything listed on here and it still doesn't work. I've changed my gmail settings to enable IMAP forwarding and such. My ports are 993 and 587. Everything is checked that is recommended. Does anyone  have a work around? I'm going nuts not being able to use Outlook to both send and receive files. I've deleted the account and readded it hundreds of times. It'll connect for just a minute at the beginning and then stop. Any ideas? Thanks!

I'm running OS X 10.9.2, Outlook for Mac 2011, version 14.4.1 (140326). I am unable to rebuild or repair the main identity. I have followed all of the steps mentioned on the OfficeforMacHelp.com Troubleshoot site regarding this issue and am still unable to rebuild ANY identity. Any suggestions on how to proceed? At this point, I am unable to open Outlook without it asking to rebuild.

Error code 18000

Update: I was able to rebuild my database when I created a new identity and copied the Contacts, Events, Categories (NOT Folders), Mail Accounts, Message Attachments, Message Sources, Messages, Note, and Signatures folders from the old identify to the new identity.

All of my folders were named "Recovered folder", but I was able to get my data back.

Questions: Do I have to change the "new identity" back to the "main identity" or do I leave the "new identity" as the default identity?

There is now a "Outlook for Mac Archive.olm" file on my Desktop. What do I do with that?

I've found several postings of problems similar to this that were solved with cleaning out the keychain or completely recreating the profile for Outlook - both have been tried on various computers having the problem.  The problem occurs on about 20% of the Macs in our environment.  The timing of the problem did coincide with renewing the 3rd-party certificate on the CAS servers.  We have also removed any existing certificates on the problem Macs without success.  From packet traces, it does appear to have problems with successfully resolving the server from autodiscover - but 80% of the Macs and all of the PC's don't have problems so I'm hesitant to make drastic changes.  The error itself is very generic to being an authentication error and requiring attempts to login repeatedly.

Having a PC background myself, I'm not positive I've referred to everything in the proper terminology - but I hope it is close enough to make my issue understood.

Some Mac OS 10.7, 10.8, and 10.9 are having the issue and others with the same OS are not.  It has been very elusive on discovering the underlying issue.  We are running Exchange 2010 SP3 with RU4.

I've tried checking the options, but can't figure out why all my Hotmail inbox emails are frequently copying into my Outlook. it's just started happened now for the fourth time in the last 3 months or so. There are over 13,000 emails there and it takes irritatingly forever to download, not to mention that I now have 4 of each email.

Can anybody help?

Hello

All I hope you can help me - I have just installed Mac for office 2011 contacted to an exchange server.

If I complete an email on my iPhone the phone auto populates my auto complete list on both mac and also the iPhone.

if I do the same on my Mac it refuses to remember the new address I have typed and nothing is remembered.

I have reinstalled the suite twice now with no luck so I'm beginning to think that it might be a permissions problem on one of the files - but last time I reinstalled the app with the help of MS they looked like they deleted all associated Plists.

So has anyone else had this problem and or can anyone help me resolve this please ?

Thank you in advance to anyone that can help out there.

Mick

i have been trying for a day to move my contacts from Outlook 2013/Windows to Outlook 2011/Mac.

this should not be hard ?!?!? same product, same vendor, simple flat files.

i tried export / import with a pst file.  it seems to import but just puts an inoperable pst folder within the outlook tree - no contacts loaded, file just sits there.

then i tried the CSV method - - exported from windows - checked the file (yup, all there) - - loaded up import on Mac, mapped all the fields...ran the import...super....EXCEPT - every single field is bounded by parentheses, rendering the content completely useless.  checked some old forums and this seems to be a couple of years old problem...but could not find any post that actually solved it. i can't go into every field of 1,000 contacts and manually delete all the debris.  SURELY this has been solved ???  anyone have the magic code?

[on a side note - so far, my purchase of Office 365 subscription has been a complete waste....can't do much on the mac, and i can't use the ipad version unless i move 4GB of data from dropbox to OneDrive.]
