Hello -  I am a relatively "new" MAC user so if you could provide me with an answer to this really frustrating challenge, I'd appreciate it.

My issue is that I am trying to run an auto-update on my Microsoft Software on my Macbook Air and I cannot do so because it says I must shut-down certain programs, and I have been a 20+ year windows user, and have NO idea how to shut down these programs, or what they even do, or how to find them.

So I am hoping for an easy way to get around this.  I'm wondering if I can force-quit these programs?  I am trying to QUIT the following: Microsoft Database Daemon and SyncServicesAgent, so I can run the update easily.

Note I need a very easy answer because I am not "MAC-Savvy" as a lot of people on these boards are.

Also my outlook suddenly started crashing once I tried to troubleshoot what I found on the other responses....I am getting a major crash area, but posted that Q on another post.  Not sure if this has anything to do with it.

Hello - I have been using Outlook for MAC 2011 on my MacBook Air (OSX 10.9.3).

Suddenly today it started crashing the minute I log-in to the application.  Here is the detail of the info I received from the error report:

Can you tell from the above what this might be related to, and tell me please how I can get past this?  At this point, everything in my Outlook is completely hidden from my sight (including all of my tasks) until I can get back in again.  It's pretty debilitating. :(

Thank you so much!

OK, so I'm an early adapter - I still have four old clones and a couple of TM backups that I can resort to, but I'd like to see this one fixed (if I can).

All other MS apps work great except for Outlook - I can simply not get a main windows up - trying New Main Window doesn't work, rebuilding my identity doesn't work - nothing seems to work. I've in the process of checking out other apps but this has been the only 'hitch' thus far... any help?

Thanks,

Clinton

Hi all

Im having a nightmare with my auto complete when typing emails not working in the to fields.  It was working previously and if I wrote a new email on my phone or iPad the auto completed addresses are there but on my mac the newly created ones fail to turn up ?

What gives ? I have deliberately reinstalled everything from scratch some I'm really confused why this isn't working.

I use exchange mail and msn mail and both of these don't remember newly created email address.

im pulling my hair out. :(

can any one help ??

Does Mac allow for a "new email" signature as well as a reply/forward signature?

Hi there,

I am new to the Automator and was looking to build a new service using Outlook. I wanted to be able to select a file and send it as attachment using Outlook via the services menu.

But I am unable to find Outlook or any other MS Office objects in the Library of Automator. Screenshot attached.

Is there a trick to add them into automator options? Thanks

Loukik.

I am using Outlook 2011 on my Mac.  I have the latest Outlook loaded on a PC as well.

On my Mac, it is stuck in a continuous loop showing an unread message and saying in the status bar that there is a sync pending then that it's downloading attachments - which never happens.

When I use Outlook on the PC, this does not happen and all messages show as read.  Logging into web access for my account shows the same as the PC - nothing unread or pending.

I did a 'cache empty' of the inbox, have re-installed Outlook and have restarted both Outlook and my Mac.  None of that has worked.

Help !  This constant cycling is causing slow performance and irregular behavior within Outlook.

Any guidance is appreciated.

Thank you.
