I created an alias for an existing account but now I want to make it into it's own email account. I removed the alias 30 days ago but Microsoft still says it's part of a reserved domain. How can I create this account?
I tried using these settings to set it up but I'm getting an error message.
Settings I used:

Incoming:
  • incoming Mail Server: imap-mail.outlook.com
  • Port: 993
Outgoing:
  • Outgoing Mail Server: smtp-mail.outlook.com
  • Port: 587

Error Message:

OK Outlook.com IMAP4rev1 server version 17.2.0.0 ready (BAY451-IMAP278)
So, if my account has vanished, even though I used it daily for 13 years and it was a paid subscription,  last paid 8/15/2013, and I opened another hotmail account, and still I get the message: your account does not exist in the database....what the heck am I supposed to do? all my professional life hinges on that account! having other collateral ones, like the gmail one, doesn't help.  I  need my original one back. I really need help and no Microsoft help has come.

I just logged into my hotmail today. I have not logged in for a few months. I noticed all of my emails are gone. Ive had this account since grade school and I would really appreciate help getting these emails back!

Last night all of my contacts on Outlook.com disappeared. I sync those to both my Windows 8 phone and Outlook 2013 on my home PC.

I can pull up the People page on Outlook.com just fine and it says I have no contacts. And there are no deleted contacts to be restored.

Anyone have an idea what might me going on?

Thanks-Mike

With these new updates two days ago, now I can't open a .docx document in Windows Live Mail.  With security on, it says "Prohibited File Type"; with security off, it says "The Microsoft product necessary to open this file is not installed on your computer." I use Microsoft WordStarter and never had a problem opening a .docx attachment in Windows Live Mail before.  What is going on?  Is there a fix other than having to buy a new Word program?

All of my contacts have been deleted (within the last 2 days) and when I attempt to restore them outlook says they is nothing available?

What has happened? and what can I do?

I'm having problems with my e-mail.  I went into my e-mail, then account, then properties, then server and changed my password.  Ever since then the only way I can get my e-mail is through road runner.  I can send find, just not receive.  Whenever I go into my e-mail icon and error message pops up, Windows Live Mail couldn't log on to the email server using authenticated POP (APOP). Contact your email provider and verify that it supports authenticated POP.   Error ID: 0x80004005   and than I got   ox800CCC90 .  All I changed was password.  I never had any other place that I put a password into.  Bright House was not help.   I keep getting the run around.  Please help !

Hello. Tonight, my father recieved an e-mail which was a confirmation of cancellation to our msn dial-up internet access at $9.95/month happening tomorrow. The sender was *** Email address is removed for privacy ***. The thing is we didn't cancel our internet access. Is this a bogus e-mail or, if it's legit, how can we resolve this issue? Thanks.
