my account was locked i made a thread a few weeks ago the info didnt help i have an account that when i sign in says i need to text or call a code but the number i put was fake and i filled out the form they denied it I NEED THIS ACCOUNT NOW what do i do please help me now !!!?
I posted this as a comment to the Outlook.com blog, but I thought it would be good to bring this problem here as well.

The IMAP EXPUNGE command is quite slow for my account (and of my co-worker's).  I have a new Outlook.com account with 2 - 3 emails in it, so I don't think this is a scale problem.

It's easy to reproduce with OpenSSL from a console window:

$ openssl s_client -connect imap-mail.outlook.com:993 -crlf

Once connected (note, this will delete your oldest email in your Inbox):

a login <user> <pass>
[LOGIN responses]
a select Inbox
[SELECT responses]
a store 1 +flags (\Deleted)
[FETCH responses]
a expunge

At this point, with my account, the connection holds for 10s - 15s.  No other commands may be pipelined at this time.

This seems way too long for an Inbox of my size, with one message marked for deletion.

Note that the CLOSE command (which implies an EXPUNGE, but with no responses delivered to the client) also hangs for a similar amount of time.

Hello,

I have a Windows 8 phone; I have a Windows 8 (soon to be 8.1) computer.  When syncing, how come the pictures of my contacts from my phone do not show up on my computer? I should think this would be an automatic thing.

Any suggestions?

Many thanks,

I just tried to check my email, and sign in to my account, it took me to a security thing and now it says Its updating the account.....this is a huge pain in the butt, I cant access my email for the next month, why

I can send messages but not receive.  Please Help!!!

MODERATORS ARE LOCKING THREADS WITHOUT GIVING ANSWERS. When changing alternate email address, where does reset/security info go during the 30-day waiting period for the old (closed) alternate email address to get removed? Does the security info code get sent to that alternate email address? If so, then it could be going to someone else who has since used that address to open a new account!!!

I AM CONVINCED THAT MOST MODERATORS DO NOT READ USER QUESTIONS, OR THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO ANSWER IN SIMPLE AND CLEAR ENGLISH. OR THEY POST THE ANSWER IN AN OBSCURE LOCATION THAT REQUIRES THE USER TO GO THROUGH A MAZE TO FIND THE ANSWER.

It seems nearly every time I submit a question, the Moderators lock the thread and send me an email telling me to click a link to find my answer. The link in the email goes to a page stating complicated and confusing instructions that I cannot understand. I do everything the instructions tell me to do, but I still cannot find or open the link to read my answer.

THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS MAKE NO SENSE TO ME. (I HAVE TRIED THEM MORE THAN ONCE, AND THEY DO NOT WORK.) MODERATORS PLEASE STOP SENDING EMAIL LINKS TO THIS PAGE. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW TO ACCESS THE INFORMATION FROM THE PAGE THAT YOU STATE CONTAINS YOUR ANSWER TO MY QUESTION/ISSUE. Please just post the answer on the forum or paste it into the text/body of the email. I AM NOT ASKING FOR ANY SPECIFIC ACCOUNT INFORMATION, ONLY A GENERAL ANSWER TO A GENERAL QUESTION/ISSUE.

The page states (instructions that will not work for me):

On my skydive files my photos are labelled PUBLIC on the bottom of the box- Does that mean everybody has access to my photos or do I need to change it to private ? And if so how do I change it to Private?
