I have a 10 year old Hotmail account *** Email address is removed for privacy *** which got hacked back in mid 2008. The hacker changed my password, and when I wanted to reset it by answering the secret question, I noticed that they even changed the secret question from 'The name of your
first pet' into a turkish phrase which I translated into "Your mother's maiden name". The recovery procedure requested me to produce the contents of the latest email, but it failed too.
Recently I went to https://account.live.com/password/reset to reset the password for that email account, but this is the answer I received:
"The Microsoft account is incorrect. Please try again."
I had my Paypal details and resume related emails back on that account, who knows what shenanigans those hackers can do with my information.
I was asked to enter a verification code to access my email and clicked the option that said I no longer own the number which was on file for me. I entered my new number and got sent the code which let me into my email but my old phone (which my mum now
uses) received a text to inform about the update.
That doesn't seem like a very good safety feature to me if the person that took your old number gets told what you used to make your account 'secure'.

I think I am writing this on private email support (as recommended). I have recently discovered that I have deleted many important emails (organized in a folder) from my account of *** Email address is removed for privacy *** Is there any way that those emails can be restored ? (Since April 2013)

My hotmail account was hacked and I do not find my emails nor my contacts. Can you help me please?
I also saw the following when I did try to reset my password: the email account indicated in there must be the hacker's one, I never wrote that email address, I do not know it.
Please help me find my contacts and emails, it is my working email and I need it.

I have had it with this mess, If i don't get this issue fix i"m moving on to another email client.
Recently I was missing some very old important emails from my "Inbox" folder, I thought it was me that accidentally deleted them (which i never really bought) but then i emailed my self a test email and named it "auto delete test" and put the date on the
subject, now surely almost a month later that email has been auto moved with a bunch of other to the "trash bin" WHY!!?
I have no other email client using this account that could explained this issue, never been "hacked".
Please help a loyal 10 year user or lose me forever.
everytime i try to send something thru my hotmail account it stops and says internet not working but it is then it restarts does this bout three times before stopping. can anyone give me some help
I can send and receive emails - but recently I can no longer attach files to the emails.
Perhaps this is a synchronization problem? I have tried to fix things by doing a cleaning/sweeping of the computer.
I also deleted history and cookies.
Yet - nothing has helped. I need to be able to attach files!

I opened a Windows Live mail account for business use and my personal contacts merged accross from my Outlook account. I want to keep them separate. If I now delete the personal contacts from my business email account, and vice versa will I lose them
from both accounts?
