I am trying to transition my email with indy.rr.com into the windows mail. Help!
I DOWNLOAD MSE FOR MY WINDOWS VISTA HOME PREMIUM SER PAK 2 BUT, IT FAILED TO INSTALL AND MY NEW WINDOWS UPDATES ALSO FAIL TO INSTALL.
Having just got back from holiday, I seem to have lost the ability to send emails from my live mail account. It shows that I am working off line and there seems to br no method of getting back on line. I can still receive emails or so it appears but I
can not send. Has anyone got any suggestions that would help.
I've just upgraded to Windows 8 from Windows Home Basic. At present I can't access my live mail address and retrieve E-mails even after trying to negotiate compatibility. I am also experiencing difficulty in accessing my old Word Document files (.doc)
as none of the available apps give me full use. Is there a program (that doesn't cost, I find that very questionable, that I should upgrade to 8 and then be expected to buy various items that were on my previous Home Basic) Suggestions, please?
windows live mail defaults locked and choose defaults not opening
I've been getting the following message when I try to send messages:

Port: 25

Socket Error: 10061
Note: This problem only happened today. I did not make changes to my computer. The first time it happened today, I rebooted and the message was sent. I've tried rebooting again, but this time the messages stay in the Outbox with the above error message appearing.

Checking my WLM Email/Options/Send/HTML Settings/Encode text using:
I see None; Quoted Printable; & Base 64.
I haven't a clue what this all means, or what settings I should have, or if this can cause issues, or what -
Can you steer me in the right direction?
