Lost Contact List

I have a friend who had to move to Win8 due to his PC burning out. He successfully moved all his data from the old drive to the new system including his Windows Live Mail and including his contacts and all was well for a couple of months. Now all of a sudden he has lost his Contacts - the whole thing is blank. Unfortunately he cannot pinpoint exactly when the loss may have been incurred but equally he cannot recollect any particular problem with his email setup that could possibly have been related to the loss.

 

He is running Win8 and Windows Live Mail Version 2012 (Build 16.4.3508.0205) so its pretty up to date. He does not have a hotmail.com or similar Microsoft email address, but a Yahoo one and another local ISP supplied web mail one. Both of these are included in the Windows Live Mail list of accounts and are synched with all the time. We believe the Contact list (including Groups) was stored on the local machine however despite being able to find lots of contacts.edb files we have so far been unable to determine which one might be the 'lost' one.

 

Given the above configuration can anyone point us at where we should look to find what we think must have been a locally stored contacts file, so that hopefully we can somehow point WLM to it again?

I can’t access my email

I can't access my email account since you changed security. I only have 1 email account, the one I use for my business. I tried adding another acct but that didn't work. I asked you to phone me with a code,(6 times) but each one did not work. Please help as I need to get into my email acct. You won't let me send the security code to this account either, just to the blocked one.

Pending DNS Configuration

I have configured the MX records at my registrar to match the domain MX settings in Live Admin Center but it is still shows status Pending changes after several hours.  I have verified that the MX records are correct and have propagated world wide. the domain is cummings2u.com

 

This domain was previously blocked due to "a protected word or inappropriate language" but was escalated to a support specialist and adjusted to allow it's use. please see this thread.

 

I've seen other posts where names were previously blocked for protected word inappropriate language then unblocked and they seem to have the same problem with the domain status "pending changes" indefinitely.

 

Please help.  I had to add my old MX records back into my registrar so I can continue getting email to my current provider but I left the ***.pamx1.hotmail.com priority 10 and ***..msv1.invalid priority 100 so windows live can still validate ownership.

temporary access to my account

I am told that the outlook account is temporarily disabled.  Instructed to request a code to be sent to another email which was done.  The code was successfully entered but I am told that there is suspicion that the account has been spammed.  Have looked through the mail and every mail seen was requested.  

I believe that this account from which I am writing will unnecessarily be deleted.  I write for guidance on how to prevent deletion?

Please help me to reactivate my live.com account after long period I did not use it. I tried resetting passward an it didn't work (saying error). Should I register again with the same ID I had?

Sorry, there seems to be a problem with Outlook right now

I have been fighting this problem all afternoon.   Outlook is working on other accounts on this computer but only on my account it is stuck with the message: "Sorry, there seems to be a problem with Outlook right now"

 

I have cleared my IE explorer cache and it is still stuck.  I use the Windows 8 IE from the desktop.   Please help.

 

Remember I can't get in to my email for notification.  Thanks. I guess I'll keep checking back here.

I have been sent an email asking me to sign in and verify my account.  I sign in, only I have no code to put in anywhere and when I sign in there isn't even anywhere to put a code - if I had one!  I simply do not understand what is going on, it shouldn't be this difficult.  I have wasted alot of time on this that would be better spent doing something else.  One unhappy customer and I only opened my account this evening! Please help.
