Anyone know what the problem is with hotmail.com IMAP access being unable to connect?
Have a Windows Live Mail setup that's been reading mail just fine, but now suddenly can't send any.
Whoops, now it won't read mail either.

Any clues? Solutions? Anyone else with the same problems?
Hello,
My wife was working on a Christmas Video of our sons to give out as presents. After days of work, she was almost finished with the project when the program started to freeze up on her. She was able to save her work before closing out the program but after restarting the computer, Movie Maker says that the file is either incompatible or corrupted. I know it is a compatible file since it had been working previously and that it must be corrupted since other .wlmp files still open.
I have looked around and found several threads in which considerate_guy seems to really know what he is talking about with fixing these files. I tried to follow his advice found in this thread which describes looking at the file as an xml or in notepad and looking for missing information. I did this for both the text and music sections since that is what my wife had been working on at the time of the problem but it did not fix the file. I even removed all entries from the text and music sections to see if that would resolve the issues, but it did not help either.
I tried chatting with the live tech support too, but both reps I spoke with had me disable all non-Microsoft services and restart the computer to see if anything was interfering with the program. I did this even though the program works just fine with other project files. One rep also had me run sfc /scannow because they said that would fix corrupted files. I'm fairly certain this only fixes Windows System files and not the corrupted project file I am trying to fix. I ran it anyways and it finished without finding any problems.
I'm now just looking for anyone who can either look at the file for me and fix it or get me in direct contact with considerate_guy since he really seems to know Movie Maker problems inside and out.
Thanks in advance for any help you can send my way!
-Tom
I want to change my sign-in name.
How do I do that?
For the past few days my SEND/RECEIVE cycles using LIVE MAIL to retrieve my att.net email, operated by yahoo, appear to NOT be removing those emails on the server side. I do have the flag correctly set to remove emails once retrieved by LIVE MAIL. I have no alias's set up. I am running version 2012 (Build 16.4.3528.0331) So when Live mail periodically checks the server it uploads all the same emails every time. I end up with all emails duplicated.
I have not made any changes to any settings AND all of this has been working fine for years.
If I go to att.net and check my emails right after an LIVE MAIL send/receive they are still there. If I delete them from att.net then when LIVE MAIL retrieves it all starts over as long as I do not delete the emails on the server using ATT.NET
I am getting the following error message at the end of the send/receive processing ...
UNABLE TO SEND OR RECEIVE MESSAGES FOR THE ATT MAIL SERVER ACCOUNT (even though I am getting the emails)
Server Error: 0x800CCC()
Server Response: -ERR [SYS/TEMP] problem retrieving message
Server: 'pop.att.yahoo.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800420CD
Protocol: POP3
Port: 995
Secure (SSL): Yes
UNABLE TO SEND OR RECEIVE MESSAGES FOR THE ATT MAIL SERVER ACCOUNT.
(But I am getting emails and emails I send are sent)
Any help would be appreciated.
I want to start my movie maker however the response is: Sorry, movie maker cant start. Make sure your computer meets minimum system requirements...try to update driver for your video card if it still doesnt work?
- Graphics card. Windows Movie Maker requires a graphics card that supports DirectX 9.0c or higher and Shader Model 2 or higher. For DirectX 9 hardware on Windows 7, go to Windows Update.
- Windows Photo Gallery and Movie Maker require some features of DirectX 10, which might be installed for you if they're not found on your computer.
- I did the windows updates but dont know if it pertains to movie maker? Should i unistall then install Windows Essential 2012?? Will this help?? I appreciate any help due i need to create 3 different videos and Movie Maker is what i am familiar with. Thanks
