I used Windows Essentials 2012 for my email accounts. Starting this morning, I got the following error message when I tried to send messages. The messages weren't sent.
An unknown error has occurred.
Server: 'smtp.gmail.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8007007A
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 465
Secure(SSL): Yes
Any idea what might be causing this?

The common method recommended is to export the contacts from Windows Live Mail in CSV format and import it into Outlook. Unfortunately this does not work for names which use foreign alphabets. Any solutions?
I had a crash of my hard drive and reinstalled Windows 10 and the recommended upgrades. My windows Live Mail was reinstalled and started working. Since last night, I can download my emails but when I try to open them I get the message"A problem occurred while trying to open this message. A problem occurred. Please try again"
What shall I do. The emails are in the c:\ drive with windows programme.
I also cannot import my contacts from my backup drive. WLM does not give me the option to import from the backup data.
Any help would be appreciated.

I have two computers both using windows live mail and windows 10. One computer allows me to open email links, while the other won't. On the one that doesn't,(laptop) I've tried 4 different web-browsers to no avail. When I put the cursor on the link it changes to a hand and the link shows up on the bottom of the page, but when I click the link, nothing happens (no error messages either). I don't have any problems with
attachments. I'm not a computer geek.

Recently, my emails have not shown up in my inbox or in my junk mail.
For example, someone would be replying to my email and it would not be detected. I will have to search for it (after finding out through other people that they have sent me something) and find it filed under Trash - unread. But I am still unable to move it to my Inbox in my "search" view. After I go into my Trash - I cannot manually search for the missing email. It's simply not there.
I access my email accounts several times a day and look through junk mail each time as well.
I have had several people reply to my different emails - only to find that hotmail has automatically moved them into Trash or misplaced them. These people are in my email list as well - and they are replying to my original emails. I have no idea why I am not receiving them in my inbox.
I cannot not keep searching for emails that I do not know about. This is so frustrating. I keep thinking that they are not replying and only finding out later that they have emailed me several days ago.
I'm seriously considering moving to another email account like Gmail as I'm tired of losing emails.
