I have followed ALL of the directions on the post "can't send email from livemail" and still cannot send email from my outlook email account. I have my full email address on the General tab; on the Server tab, the incoming mail server is IMAP, incoming mail shows imap-mail.outlook.com and outgoing mail shows smtp.live.com - log on using clear text authentication is selected as well as "my server requires authentication"; the Advanced tab shows outgoing mail as 587, incoming mail as 995 with both boxes checked for this server requires a secure connection (SSL) and server timeout is set to 4 minutes; IMAP tab reflects Inbox as the root folder path and the box is checked for store special folders on IMAP server with the following shown in the last 4 spots -- Sent Items, Drafts, Deleted Items, Junk E-mail.
Just got a message (in part): Connection to the server failed. Your IMAP command could not be sent to the server, due to non-network errors. Error ID 800ccc0e.
What have I overlooked? I have received error IDs of 0x800CCC78 and 0x800CCC69. It seems I can receive email, just can't send it. I have my outlook account on my iPhone and at one point at least, I could send from it....doesn't make sense to me! Thanks in advance for your insight!
