In what way wrong? The 2011 version is the latest that will run on Vista. Users with newer versions of Windows should be using the 2012 version to avoid problems with, say, apparently losing the Internet connection when running the program MSI.
Why are you trying to install an obsolete version of the program?
Noel, Essentials 2012 Release Notes has now "reached end of support on January 10, 2017". Apparently, Windows Live Photo Gallery and Movie Maker 2011 is still supported. I'm trying to install Movie Maker on my Windows 8.1 computer. When I tried installing the 2011 version (just now) I got this Internet connection error...
Does anyone have any advice how to get Movie Maker on my Win 8.1 computer?
In WLM, when I scroll through the contacts, there are at least 50 which call themselves simply "Q", with no details except to say they're offline. All deletion options are greyed out, both the red X on the toolbar and the right-click context menu.
How can I get rid of them?
By the way, I'm running Windows 10, and don't use the Mail or Contacts or Calendar apps, since these can't (any longer, more's the pity!) be synced with WLM (all its email folders are on my hard drive).

I regularly send emails to a Contact Category. Since a significant update two months ago, Windows Live Mail does not recognize the category name as an email address. I notice that the category appears in the addressee box with a "+" before it. But when I attempt to send, I get the message that I need a valid email address! If I ADD another address t the SEND box, it appears that the message is sent (i.e., without further protest that Live Mail can't send to some particular bad address). But when I look in the SENTMAIL category, themessage was NOT sent to all the contacts in the category.
In Outlook, a category of contacts was usable as a kind of listserve or lump mailto. I need to be able to send the same email to 82 different people at a time. HOW???
Tried Installing Windows Live Mail On Windows 10 Machine but after reaching 14 % of installation stops and says retry installing software .
I get message when deleting folders ,,,, cannot delete please update folder list. However my folder gets deleted...

I can change the other default apps, but when I try to change the photo viewer app, the settings window closes and the option I clicked isn't set. It still says "TWINUI".
The reason I want to change the photo viewer is because I can't open any photos with TWINUI. It says "Class not registered". I always have to go to Open With > Photo Gallery in order to look at pictures. I've looked at my photos so many times before. Why can't I do it now? And why can't I change the default app?
I went to window defender to start it all over but couldn't . It didn't give me the problem. I said there was a problem . Can anyone help me .

I have not been signed up for some time, when i signed in my hotmail account today, found that it has been updated to Microsoft, and was asked to provide the account informaton. After signed in, my previous mails have been lost....
Also, is there any other solutions that my Microsoft mail account would be also available to receive mails via other mailbox?
Would you please help to check on it?
