I need to save my Windows Mail calendar events so I can export them to my new computer. The online instructions are useless. They say to sign in with my Windows Live ID and click "Send/Receive" in my Calendar window. This ALWAYS fails, so nothing gets exported to my online Outlook calendar. Allegedly, I can also create an ICS file and do it that way. But there are NO useful instructions on how to do this. I'm using Windows Live Mail 2011, if that's helpful. Will someone please tell me how to export my Calendar data or make an ICS file? Thank you...

Hello, having turned PC on (windows 10) , this morning my Windows Live Mail has Lost all email Accounts (No information at all) and all emails . It just shows Quick Views , Outbox and Storage Folders (All empty)!!

My first reaction is to panic and wonder how well Windows Live Mail is Managed & Updated, having had a previous incident a couple of Months ago when my Contacts suddenly disappeared, that issue I found a Fix online, but my confidence in this program has almost vanished (a bit like our emails & accounts!).

In this post , where do I find Properties, Previous Versions, Restore Options ?

I receive an email with a friend's email address included in it and I want to click on the email address given in order to reply to that email only. When I click on the email address it automatically goes to Google chrome and I am unsure how to continue to send the email to the email address I have just clicked on.

Please help!  Frequently I get the following, the latest of which started 7 or 8 days ago:

1.  My messages don’t get sent out, they accumulate in the Outbox and if I’m lucky they get sent out in a week or two.

2.  I get no send/receive mail...

3.  A popup window demands to enter a password but doesn’t recognize my login! Nothing helps, it keeps coming constantly!

I got the below error message:

Unable to send or receive messages for the *** Email address is removed for privacy *** account. An incorrect password was entered. The next time you send or receive messages, you'll be asked to enter your user name and password for this account.

Please please help?  Thanks ever so much!    Leidirose

On the 27th April I posted this question and Jefferson Ore was kind enough to reply I followed his advice and have now experienced further problems. It may be that in my attempt to correct the situation I caused the new problem not sure but don't believe so. I attempted a reply to Jefferson's post on 28th April but don't believe this has gone through the system if it has my apology for the re post.

Re Post

Now I'm in big trouble

Have followed Jefferson's advice and clicked on to the Stop Signing In Icon and then checked my contacts list .About 150 contacts have disappeared totally as have 3 of the group lists that were previously there. At the same time the numbers of contacts in the 3 remaining groups have increased from what they where earlier yesterday morning with one group having increased from 67 members to 150 members where as the maximum number in this group had previously been 77 members.

Returned to the Connection Tab to check whether I could reverse the Stop Signing In option only to find that option is apparently no longer available to me and while the Sign In Tab  is illuminated and use able the Stop Signing In tab is greyed out and will not respond to any attempt to activate this feature.

Any way to reverse the catastrophe that has occurred and at least allow me to reinstate my list of contacts and groups from a couple of days ago. I know this doesn't totally resolve my problem but gives me a better base to work with.

My original contacts list has decreased from 633 to 450 and the numbers in my group contact lists have diminished from 344 earlier yesterday to 268 as I type this message. My original Groups lists contained 417 contacts, fortunately if push comes to shove I have hard copies of 410 of the names and details of my original contacts and they can be regenerated with some considerable effort.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated,

Graeme M

Where is the private area of this moderator?

Where will I find the file on my computer to do the FiddlerCap trace?

I have 6 WLM accounts using IMAP servers and none of them are working.

They freeze, won't send emails, it deletes some emails when I put my mouse on them and have to go to Outlook online to retrieve deleted messages, can't move emails to folders and I get error messages all the time such as 'can't connect to IMAP server, server terminated the connection, or

Message could not be displayed

Windows Live Mail encountered an unexpected problem while displaying this message. Check your computer for low memory or low disk space and try again.

.or

Unable to send or receive messages for the Live account. Header download for the '  3rd July 2014' folder did not complete. Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity.

Server Response: Your IMAP command could not be sent to the server, due to non-network errors. This could, for example, indicate a lack of memory on your system.
Server: 'imap-mail.outlook.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E
Protocol: IMAP
Port: 993
Secure(SSL): Yes

Then it keeps updating the database or moving messages which takes a long time and freezes all the accounts.

I can't open emails.

I get the Message could not be displayed.

If I close WLM, then it sends the emails in the Outbox sometimes but not all the time.

I clear the cache all the time so it's not low memory.

I changed my password for one of them and the window keeps popping up with the address and password to connect.

I click on it and the window appears again.

I changed server settings to incoming: imap-mail.outlook.com

Outgoing: smtp-mail.outlook.com as WLM was completely unstable.

Now it's exactly the same.

The advice from Microsoft for changing the server settings was incorrect BTW.

Nortons gave me the correct ones above in bold.

I have this problem after the last Windows update.

The update before this one changed the server settings and WLM didn't work.

I changed the settings and it did work until the last update.

I won't bother updating anymore.

Are you making WLM difficult or not supporting it so we only use Outlook?

Outlook has problems too like not connecting sometimes.

I never understood having 'alias' accounts and didn't bother.

I need my accounts all displayed in WLM as each one serves a different purpose and move emails into folders in the other accounts.

I have had one account for 20 odd years.

PS: I am really jacked off having to pay for Word etc.

I only need Word.

I use Open Office.

Thanks for help in advance.

I tried this procedure twice and both times the program ran for several minutes and then stopped saying I had no internet connection.  I did have an internet connection. There was another problem about a month ago where windows 10 kept losing the IP address of my WiFi. Could this problem be related to my results?

i HAve had Windows 10 since it upgraded. before that i had 7, xp, ?? etc,.. ok- when i want to clear the cache and cookies using HELP and then i Launch System Information from there to clear my cache and cookies. Mostly cache. I used it mainly for tech support and they they would take over the computer. All of a sundden which i think has been about 3 weeks ago i clicked on it and  whatever is all on the HELP menu for AOL  the who thing suddenly quit working. Cannot use anything on HELP. I contacted AOL and they have no solution or Tech that is able to fix it. So what do i do now. Anyone have any suggestions for me? I hate to say this, but AOL Tech support isn't too smart.
