Question about Outlook Express

Until last week, I was able to email photos from Photo Gallery, using my Sympatico email account.

For the past 4 days, I cannot do this any more.  I am unable to email any photos, regardless of whether I use Photo Gallery or the Windows 10 photo program, and on my Sympatico email or Windows email.

This is a complete mystery - What changed?  I did not change any settings - It just stopped working for me.  It doesn't matter what combination of settings I try - nothing works now.  

I used to email photos as attachments and would send them as attachments in  "small" size, or by using "One Drive".  

Now, nothing works!

I have been using Windows Movie Maker (the 2012 version, not sure if it's the latest) to edit my videos and upload them on YouTube. I have noticed that the YouTube videos that I uploaded after editing them with Movie Maker all have this annoying, strange hissing and ghostly sounds. Recently, I found out that they only happen in the saved videos from Movie Maker and even when I play them from there. When I played my videos before putting them in Movie Maker, they do not have the strange sounds at all. I used my phone camera and action camera for the videos and they all make the hissing sound only after editing them on Movie Maker.

Is there a way to fix this? If not, what other editing programs can I use to trim or combine video files to upload them on YouTube?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks to Firedog, my Live Mail resumed working beautifully using IMAP protocol in the last few weeks.

But 2 or 3 days ago, I had problems even composing a message. I got distracted by a repeated message: 

'TCP/IP connection unexpectedly terminated by the server'.

This meant that the message could not be sent, no matter how many times I tried.

Even deleting messages was not possible - the deleting process went on and on indefinitely.

I couldn't believe my bad luck. Why had this happened?

In short, I had to return web mail which is crude compared with Live Mail.

Firedog, I think you are the only one to discover why IMAP failed and to suggest a solution.

I am counting on your advice. 

Teresa Rudolf informed me you had got her email working. (She said her anti-virus software AVAST was to blame. I told I use Windows Defends, also part of Windows Essentials)

I used to have photo gallery & was able to make collages to post on my selling page but due to no fault of mine but windows 10!!!  it all had to be re-installed on my laptop, I lost everything but managed to keep my documents photos etc but now I cant seem to get photo gallery again, any clues please

This issue might have caused due to some third party applications or the system files conflicting with the application to open.

2. Search for Windows Live Mail 2012. select Uninstall/Change.
3. Select Repair and follow the steps and check if it helps you.

I did Method 2 and we got through 100 percent and then it said "No internet connection" which I had on the computer.

i usually find problem has been bugging a lot of Windows 7 users for a very long time, and we are still hearing complaints about Microsoft not solving it today:” I cannot go pass the Checking for updates window and go into the Downloading updates part.
