Hi there ,

In the past few days I am having trouble signing in to my Hotmail account. I previously used to click onto windows live and it would open up my mailbox. I am finding this extremely trying and frustrating! (Not to mention time consuming). It seems to me that constantly changing settings is not always consumer friendly. Has anybody else noticed this?

Sent an email that I conclude had an error in the address line (sent to many addressees); but after Server error 501 and Windows live mail error 0x800CCC79 I cannot (a) get the email back to delete or modify it, and (b) cannot send any other emails. ARGGH.

I cannot find any way of getting into the outbox where this failed-to-be sent email is apparently still lodged. I am using Windows 10 and Livemail Version 2012 (Build 16.4.3528.0331)

Only tip I have found in my searches is to uninstall and then reinstall Windows Live Mail.

Ideas?

My Windows Live email screen (either a new message or a received message) is too large. Some of it is actually off my monitor screen.

  1. Downloaded Windows Live Essentials 2011, onto my computer yesterday. I don't remember having a "too Large" email screen before that download.
  2. I am accessing my email directly from Windows Live Mail.
  3. The Restore Down icon on the top menu bar doesn't change anything.
  4. I can't "size" it by right clicking the top menu bar and clicking on "Size."
  5. Is the problem due to Windows Live Essentials, or a different cause?
  6. Do I have to uninstall Windows Live Essentials?

I have two Windows 7 computers using WLM so I leave messages read on the server so that I can read them on both computers.  On both computers I have a set of storage folders to move messages I want to keep - they are not the same on each computer as I use them for different projects.  I delete messages I do not need from time to time.  On the laptop computer if I delete all Inbox messages I find that the next time I ask for new messages WLM starts to reread/download all the messages on the server - several thousand.  On the desktop computer this does not happen.  Why should this be?

I do not wish to delete all messages on the server as one expert suggested as a way to stop rereading.  It may help if someone can tell me how WLM remembers where it was when it last read messages and only read new messages.  Is there a pointer of some kind held on my computer?  Or does it do it some other way?  I can find nothing on the internet that answers this question.

Your IMAP command could not be sent to the server, due to non-network errors. This could, for example, indicate a lack of memory on your system.

Configuration:
   Account: Gmail xxxx
   Server: imap.gmail.com
   Username: xxxx
   Protocol: IMAP
   Port: 993
   Secure(SSL): 1
   Code: 800ccc0e

I tried setting this up months ago and didn't succeed. Seems like I'm doomed to failure again despite or perhaps because I read and followed the instructions to the letter...Any suggestions, please? Yes, after each failure I "remove" the a/c and start again and yes, I have selected "imap" in Gmail settings, and yes, I have opted for "less secure apps"...so what have I missed this time...

The connection to the server has failed.

Subject
Server: 'smtp.xxx,xxx
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 587
Secure(SSL): Yes
Socket Error: 10060

Any suggestions, please, or is this insoluble and intractable? Been like this for a couple of days.
