Windows Live Mail 2012 won't allow me to add new contacts.
I am unable to sync my cox.net email account onto Outlook 2011 on my Macbook Pro. The Microsoft Store Answer Desk employee had tried making changes to the account settings, but was unable to answer my question and suggested that I ask here.

Okay. I have a contacts list but am not getting mail.  I get error ox800ccc0e socket error 10061 when windows is trying to connect to POP3 server 192.168.02 port 110.  The connection fails and cannot do anything about mail.  It worked fine until I did a reinstall of Windows10.  I have looked to find remedy in help subjects.  Very frustrated over this and hope you can shed light on the problem.  Many Thanks.

Since changing to Windows 10 I'm getting the error message: your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection." I checked what I could. It comes up about 5 to 10 minutes after booting WLM. Nothing happens, I still receive the mail and the emails sent go out normally, it's just a pain. Is there not a simple way to fix an error I didn't have with 7? My settings in WLM seem correct.

Since yesterday, I have been unable to send or receive mail from one of the hotmail accounts (all accounts managed within Windows Live Mail).

The message I keep getting when I try to retrieve is:

Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail (debra.fett) account.

Server Error: 4102
Server: 'https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8DE00001

Any help would be great, as this is a very active account.

Thank you,

Debra

I just downloaded the latest El Capitan Release (10.11 - 15A278b) and every time I launch Microsoft Outlook 2011 for Mac it I get the spinning beach ball of death. It locks up the program and requires me to manually force quit the application. I had no problems in the first 3 El Capitan Beta versions but something after Beta 4 went bad. Is Microsoft and Apple working to solve this problem? I can't use Outlook at all right now and it is a problem.

I am running the latest update of Microsoft Outlook (Version 14.5.5)

Has anyone had luck with a work around?

windows live mail 2012, cannot use the attach feature. I can attach photos, but not documents. When I click on the paperclip, nothing happens and the program freezes up . Have to go to task manager to kill the program. Only way to attach docs is open a separate screen and drag an drop attachment into email.

I did the below as suggested by another forum dated Dec. 1, 2012.

1. Restart the computer. (this is to ensure that Live Mail is fully shut down, and that none of it's components are in use when the computer starts)

2. Click Start, type CMD but do not press enter.

3. You will see cmd.exe in the search results, right click on it and select Run as Administrator - type your admin password if asked, and if UAC pops up asking premission, allow it.

4. You should now see the command prompt, with the following displayed:

Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7600]

Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

C:Windowssystem32>

5. Copy the following (Ctrl+C).

esentutl.exe -d "%userprofile%AppDataLocalMicrosoftWindows Live MailMail.MSMessageStore"

Note: the "" are necessary.

6. Right click in the command prompt Window, and select Paste, so you now see the following:

Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7600]

Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

C:Windowssystem32>esentutl.exe -d "%userprofile%AppDataLocalMicrosoftWindows Live MailMail.MSMessageStore"

7. Press enter. esentutl will now defragment the Live Mail database file.

8. Once done, you can close the command prompt, and restart the PC again.

I have completed the steps above but WLM will not launch now. The error message is "

Windows Live Mail could not be started. The application was unable to open the Windows Live Mail message store. Your Windows Live Mail mailbox data is currently being used by another program, such as a virus scanner. Close the program or wait for it to complete its operation, then open Windows Live Mail again. (0x800C0155.2)".

Can anyone help me?  I can't even get in to Live Mail now at all.
