I have a new laptop with Windows 10.  Was wondering if "Windows Essentials 2012"  can be used with out any problem.  I have looked at answers given but nothing specific.  If so would I download just Movie maker and Photo Gallery or "Windows Essentials" in its entirety?

WIndows live mail opens normally and receives mail from my BT mail server but I cannot open the e-mails. When I try to open a message a box appears saying 'a problem has occured while trying to open this message - a problem has occurred please try again'.    Happens with all messages.

Never had this before windows 10 but that might be a coincidence.  Tried repairing all windows essential programs  says successfully repaired) but still problem persists. Tried uninstalling and re-installing WIndows Essentials but problem still persists. Also contact list is blank (there were over 100 contacts on it but they have gone).  Any ideas anyone?

Split from this thread.

Are you getting any error message while using outlook or while sendinf / receiving emails?

If so then include the complete exact error message and also when you get this.

I have the same problem Arshad Kahn.  The error message I get is:

Log onto incoming mail server (POP3): Your incoming (POP3) e-mail server has reported an internal error. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).  The server responded: -ERR Exceeded the login limit for a 15 minute period.

I don't know who to contact.  My email address is *** Email address is removed for privacy *** if that gives you any information.  I assume it is msn.com but I don't know how to get in touch with the server administrator, or if there is even one I can talk to.

Thanks.

I upgraded to Windows 10 and tried it out for a couple of days.  I restored an image of my earlier Windows 7 on the disk.  Now WIndows Live Mail wants username/password when it is opened but won't accept my username/password, with the message that Windows Live Mail is locked with too many logins.  Is this a result of having used Windows 10?  How can I regain access to Windows Live Mail using Windows 7?
When I purchased my iMac and set up my email accounts - I have 4 in total - all emails sent or received would automatically be in their own folder in my inbox.  Due to a power cut about 1 month ago my iMac turned off and since that moment all emails go straight into my in box now, completely muddled up, and the original separate account folders have gone.  I cannot seem to get the separate folders back to keep the email accounts separate - can anybody help please?

Why can't I burn a project to a DVD in Windows Live Movie Maker in Windows 8.1 ?! I used to be able to burn to DVD in Windows 7 with Movie Maker with no problem!! Very frustrating!!!

A perplexing problem started a few days ago.  Some (an apparently random few) messages I have read and filed in my Hotmail folders are being moved to the junk folder.  I move the messages back to their original folders, but the next day when I start Windows Live mail, the same messages reappear in the junk folder.  I tried adding the sender to the safe sender list and changing the junk email setting to a lower level, but the messages reappear in the junk folder the next day.  Some of the messages are a few months old and some are several years old.  They were not sent to the junk folder when I originally received them, and they have been filed in their folders for weeks before this problem started.

Hi  recently purchased a windows 7 computer and I would like to listen to music but my headset didn't come in yet is there a way to hook up my earbuds into the computer.
How come Microsoft Security Essentials won't perform the scheduled weekly scan as I have scheduled it to do so?  When I look at the box in the task bar, I get the "Potentially Unprotected" message.  When I check MSE, it states that the last scan was the one I performed manually.  I have to manually perform the scan EVERY time.
