My PC run on Windows 7 Professional SP1

The Action Center have two important message

1. Turn on Microscoft Security Essentials

2. Change Windows Update settings

1. From the MSE window

Home tab:

- Real-time protection:  Off

- Virus and spyware definitions: Up to date

Click Turn on button

Error message: Real-time protection couldn't be turned on. This operation returned because the timeout period expired

Update tab:

- Virus and spyware definition couldn't be updated

- Error code: 0x80004004  The definition updates couldn't be installed

2. Windows update

Changing the various update settings did not help at all.

Restarting the compuer also didn't help

I have Windows 10 upgrade and I do not have a folder Windows Live Mail. There are two folders one called Windows Live and the other is called Windows Mail. Neither folder contains recognisable data.

However the Windows Mail folder shows amongst others, three entries like

 account(65F7  etc ) oeaccount

All have the same date of 7/11/2012

The net result is that I cannot follow the instructions given above for restoring my email account folders to Outlook.

Fortunately I have another company email address which I can use but that should be private and I need to restore the deleted folders as soon as I can.

Hopefully there will be some revised method to suit the Win 10 installation that I seem to have.

I have some saved videos saved as wmv files. I am learning to use Windows Movie Maker Version 2012 Build 16. OS is Windows 7 Home Premium. Is there a way to save them once to play on home computer and DVD player without having to convert them to play on a DVD player and save a second time?

I was able to connect to my Verizon email account through Microsoft Mail after setting up the correct POP and SMTP Server names and concomitant port numbers.  The mail was imported very quickly.  I then tried to do the same with my "sent items" folder in Verizon, but keep getting the error message that it can't connect to the Verizon server....  Try Again Later....Error Code: 0x80072f78.  I went back to the "Account Settings", and I see that the MAIL app keeps changing the password for the server to something else.  I can't read it of course, but it's much larger in size than the password I'm using for my Verizon email.  Is this what the problem is, and why does the password keep changing back?  Don't know why it worked just for the inbox mail syncing.  I know that the Microsoft password can't be changed, or different in the MAIL app, but the passwords are the same in my Microsoft and Verizon email accounts.  So, I'm confused and don't have a clue what to do now.  By the way, I ran that Windows Essentials 2012 Repair utility through Control Panel/programs/programs and features/  Don't think it made any difference, although it seemed to run to completion successfully.  If anybody has any information as to what I'm doing wrong, I'd really appreciate their sharing.  Thanks!

I am running Windows 7 and just installed Microsoft Essentials.

Tried opening Movie Maker and seem to be having the same issue many people are having.

The preview screen is black.

My apartment complex has an internet café with a shared computer, I signed into the mail feature the other day and noticed my email account is still open.  I do not see an option to sign out please help!

Thanks,

Kim

recently I always encounter this error, and can not synchronize email, please show me how to fix it:

  • When I click authenticate, I get an error that says it is a bad site, so I cant authenticate. I replied twice and I was sent a message that "Its a scam, I got hacked" I don't want to lose my email account so I need to know for sure. IS THE EMAIL A SCAM???
