Hi,

The issue I have is with Outlook for Mac 2011.

I have set some rules that basically copy emails that I receive from my server to the local "On My Computer" cache.

The issue which a couple of my colleagues and I are currently having is that there are some emails (roughly 5 emails out of like 40 emails a day) do not get copied to the "On My Computer" cache while the other emails get copied completely fine.

Please let me know if there are any solutions for this as it is happening on a daily basis which is causing our users to be very frustrated.

Thanks,

Pak

My mother is having problems with her windows live mail. When she clicks on a document she wants to send and right-clicks to send that document as an email, the window for sending the email pops up, but when she tries to address the document the name disappears and she is back to square one. She is also getting an occasional server not connected message, but I have it set so she is connected even when she is online (in the Options menu we changed that so it doesn't say do not connect.) She likes right clicking on the files and sending that way rather than opening Windows Live Mail, starting a new email and attaching.  It is easier for her to right-click and send it from the thumbnails of the documents.

It could be the server is misconfigured, but I haven't figured out where in Windows Live mail  you can find the server settings. I myself, use Outlook for my email and this I like. I don't prefer WLM, but she does and I am trying to help her through this. She has a live mail account and a gmail account, nothing too complicated, and Windows 10 with the November update. The problems started a while back before we upgraded to Windows 8. She lives in a damp climate and I don't know if her house wiring is part of the problem or not. This server problem seems to come and go with the changes in the weather.

Microsoft can't handle its own Word documents.  On top of that, it provides totally wrong advice.

I just bought a new computer and found out that the default settings for email attachments in Windows Live Mail are set to block all Word documents.  Wow!  Microsoft doesn't trust its own documents!

Then I clicked on "Help" (within the email with the blocked Word document), and this led me to this page: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-live/mail-email-download-attachments-troubleshoot-ui

The advice there is to ask the sender to ZIP the Word dovcument and sent it as a ZIP file.   Wow!  Double WOW!  If any email attachment should be suspicious, it should be a ZIP file, because it's ard to tell what might be hidden within the ZIP file.  The ZIP file could easily hide a malicious executable file.  I tell all my friends to never click on ZIP file unless they are absolutely sure it comes from a trusty source.  And even thn, is that really an email from your trusty source, or is someone just hijacking their email address?

I can't believe that Microsoft recommends ZIP files over DOC files.

Microsoft seems to be going down the hill fast.

how to change my passwords in my windows live mail accounts?
How do I get Windows Live email 2011 to not sign in automatically?  I want to enter my password every time I check my email.  I don't want my email password to be remembered.  This worked fine for 4 years and now it just signs in automatically.  Unticking the remember password or forget password box doesn't work.
Windows Live Mail on Windows 10 - Every time I send emails out, and then close Live Mail, I think it is okay, until I try to open Live Mail again. I get the "sending mail" window showing that it is not connected to the server. But the emails are already sent and there are no emails in the outbox. The only way to get Live Mail to open properly again is the annoying and temporary fix of ending process in task manager. I have tried many fixes, but none have worked. So, bottom line -- I can send emails. But, I have to end the process in task manager to open Live Mail again.

How can I migrate (export/impoart)  Windows 7 Live Mail (Contacts and Saved emails, primarily) to Windows 10 Mozilla/Firefox/Thunderbird?
