I had to reset the computer (win10) and when I reinstalled windows live mail; the old storage folders are missing. I have a backup; but cannot discern where the folders are located; so I can't retrieve the folders until I know where to look. What is the default file path?
PLEASE HELP!!!!

I have tried everything and am losing my mind over this. I even tried contacting Microsoft through several mediums and they were less than helpful.
After applying the patched WLM 2012 update (KB3093594) my WLM2012 has become completely non-functional. I have frantically looked over every suggestion made by moderators on here over the last few days and have tried literally every troubleshooting measure they have mentioned AT LEAST 10 times EACH.

I have uninstalled WLM 2012, done system restores, tried with the patch, tried without the patch, tried removing my account, tried EVERYTHING. Nothing will get my WLM2012 to sync (different errors codes each time, all pertaining to a problem syncing).

A few of my emails have downloaded except that now when you click on properties (view message source as it's written on the browser version).. I no longer see normal email properties (originating ip, where from, etc) all I see is a big bunch of internet code.

The worst part is that moderators on here keep saying that this is only happening to people who applied the patch on W10.. HOWEVER.. I am using W7. After messaging the moderators to let them know that the problem isn't exclusive to W10 I have yet to receive a reply and they are still telling people it is a W10 issue.

Please help!!!! This whole situation is very upsetting and making me feel very depressed. Thank you :'(

Evening

I received an email about the "title" and from the "title"

The email indicates that Microsoft is updating their email services that may impact most of Microsoft's email services. They indicated that I should click on functions on "here" to install the latest version of Live Mail 2012.

Do you know if this is a legitimate email from Microsoft?

These are the top 4 lines in the about function for Windows Live email:

Version 2012 (Build 16.4.3528.0331)
Copyright © 2012 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

Microsoft® Office 2010 Proofing Tools
© 2010 Microsoft Corporation.  All rights reserved.

Do I have the latest version installed?

I have Windows 10 installed and like to save my email to specific folders in Live email and then to my hard drive for back up.

Thanks Bob

Thanks

I have read the forums and message boards on this and can't fix it. Using my email address given by our local ISP, we can receive but not send email. I've checked the servers over and over. Everyone keeps mentioning ports but I see no place I can edit the ports, even when typing our ip address in and looking at the router settings. Also WLM doesn't give an error message, it just sends an email back that says it wouldn't send, so they saved it in drafts, so please check if you had the correct email address and no oversized attachments. So I feel lost in how to solve this.

I have Windows 8.1. In Live Mail, a few emails will not Delete. I get an error message, An Unknown Error Has Occurred. Then I get a message Deleting Messages but nothing seems to delete even after a few minutes. Why can't I just delete normally by highlighting the message, and clicking on the Delete Red X? What can I do to fix this problem?
Windows Live Mail update has disabled Mail sync. Good job MS. Just another malfunction we have to deal with. It's really getting old. My mail account no longer syncs since installing the update you recommended. Now what?
Today, just upgraded Office 2011 to the latest update, 14.5.9, and also ran the Apple update for El Capitan to OS 10.11.2. Before this update, Outlook was very buggy, with constant daily crashes. The only consolation was the option for an automatic alert to Microsoft. (As if that really makes any difference.) And now after these updates -- rather than an improvement -- I am experiencing even more issues with Outlook than before. Previous to these updates, Outlook would quit suddenly and unexpectedly. This behavior continues, plus now Outlook freezes unexpectedly. The only way to continue working is to Force Quit Outlook and reopen. When this happens there is no option to alert Microsoft. Is anyone else experiencing this worsening of issues with Outlook 2011?
