I use Windows Live Mail in support of my Outlook.com e-mail address.  I recently received a notification from Outlook, telling me I needed to update my WLM account, due to an imminent modification coming from Microsoft, and a link to the update was provided.

So, I clicked on the link, and the update was quickly consummated.  However, WLM is now failing to recognize all of my incoming e-mails as either Contacts or Allowed Senders:  so every e-mail has that warning, "Unknown sender.  Delete and block?  Allow sender?"

I've double-checked on my WLM Options/Safety/Safe Senders tab, and the correct items are checked ("Also trust e-mails from my Contacts" and "Automatically add people I e-mail to the Safe Senders List").

I've tried to figure out how to fix this highly-annoying problem, but have no clue.  It only started after I made the recent update. Does anyone have any ideas -- your help would be tremendously appreciated!  Thanks in advance.

It seems that every time that we are asked to patch Windows Live Mail, the patch kills WLM. WLM stopped working after updating for x64-based system (kb3112148) for windows 7. It closed down when I open it or asks for debugging endlessly. I have tried to change compatibility, and repair Windows Essentials 2012 but nothing works.

I frequently load my photos from my phone to my computer then save them to individual folders corresponding to the job they are from. Prior to upgrading from windows 7 to windows 10 I simply highlighted as many photos as I wanted to move, copied then pasted to the appropriate folder. Since upgrading to windows 10 Windows live photo gallery opens and I have no problem downloading photos from my phone to the computer (have photo stream set up but can never keep it working consistently. Gave up and download via usb) and I can select any one photo and do whatever i want with it. The problem since installing windows 10 is that I can only work with one photo at a time. If I select a group of photos and try to copy Live Gallery stops working and closes.

Original title: problem with windows live mail

tried win 10. not happy with it. don't need or intend to use many of its functions. Switched back to win 7 and now win live mail has problems. Uninstalled win live essentials 2011 and installed win live essentials 2012. (version 2011 no longer available for download.

Problems still exist. Can't access email in all folders prior to a certain date. (around time I switched to win 10. Error message only says a problem has occurred.  Win answer desk says they no longer support live mail. Is this problem fixable?

I applied the update  KB3093594 to live mail 2012 and now get this:  Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x80004005 on one account.

There are two other accounts on my windows 7 32 bit computer with this live mail 2012,  and they work fine with

the update, however my principal account will not send or receive email with that error.  I ran the repair of Windows Essentials

with the same result.  I reinstalled windows live mail 2012 and it works fine with all accounts until after I install the upgrade and

my most used account gets the error, the other two work fine.  I am looking at going to gmail, like millions of others, even though I have been a steady and loyal Microsoft customer for years.  This "upgrade" is going to do it for me.  If I install it I lose my principal account.

OK, I will tell you up front, I am no computer wiz.

I have folders like "Inbox," "junk mail," "deleted items," like everyone else, and i added a few more, like "Information," under which I have subfolders to organize different sorts of Information, such as "contacts," "recipes," "jokes."  Well, had my tech do some stuff (unrelated to my email acct, as far as I know) and now I still have all my emails in the "Information" folder, but they are no longer in subfolders...they are just all in the "Information" folder in order of date.  However, when I sign into hotmail online, the subfolders under the "information" folder are all intact.....???
