When I installed Windows 10, Windows Live Mail continued to work as before in Windows 7 except the dates now confuse me. They have always been displayed the logical way, Day/Month/Year but now they are displayed Month/Day/Year. So for instance the First of March 2016 will read 3/1/2016. In all my other communications that is today's date - the Third of January 2016.
How can I change the way the date is displayed please?
I have recently made a slide show video with music but unfortunately when I published it no pictures were shown in video. only music was playing . I dont know the reason of it . plz reply soon.
I'm trying this query again. Since reverting back from Windows 10 to 7, I've had nothing but problems. I want to try and do a repair on Live Mail but I cannot find any means of accessing Windows Essential. If I go into Control Panel, delete/repair, there is no sign of Windows essential. It's got to be there somewher!!!
regards
I've been using Windows Movie Maker 2012 over the years, first on Windows 7 and now 8 for the last couple of years, and I've struggled for a while to track down a nagging bug. I wanted to post my experience here in the hopes that it can help others, because I haven't seen anyone describe the solution I discovered.
The symptoms were that I would be clipping out unwanted sections from footage, when things would just stop working - the video won't play, nothing can be trimmed, the arrow keys don't navigate the clips anymore, there's just a black screen showing, and if you try to save the project, it doesn't respond. Although, you are still able to close the program. Sort of. There will be a zombie process left behind.
After killing that off and relaunching, I'm immediately asked to recover my last project. When you say yes though, it's back to the same issues as before.
I had some initial success tweaking on the project file based on changes I could see from last-known good saved projects as I edited, but this only worked to a point.
What it came down to had nothing to do with drivers, file formats or system resources/hardware. Rather, it was Media Maker's ability to handle extremely short clips. Although it does have the ability to handle them, you have to play close attention to the zoom level slider at the bottom of the window.
If you zoom all the way in, you have the highest chance of success at editing very short (<1 second) clips. Apparently there is an issue with how the program tries to scale the clip's entry in the timeline whose length falls below the minimum size imposed on a timeline entry.
If I encounter this problem now, I will try to undo the slicing I did and save safely, or if I am forced to, kill the hanging process and reload anew. Once I have a fresh copy running, I load up a known good project file and slide the zoom all the way to the right, and then quit. You don't have to save your changes. In fact, you'll notice that the change made to the zoom slider stays with Movie Maker the next time you run it. The zoom MUST be pre-set to maximum before you reload the video giving you issues - it cannot be zoomed in after loading, it's already broken at that point.
Best,
-Eric

Hey All.
I am unable to receive email for 1 of my email accounts in Windows Live Mail.
I get the following error message: "0x800CCC13"
Checking Windows Live Mail Error Messages this is what it says it means "IXP_E_SOCKET_WRITE_ERROR Unable to read Winsock reply"
Additional Information:
-I've got 3 email accounts setup on Windows Live Mail on the same device.
-All accounts are with the same ISP using the same internet connection.
-All 3 of the accounts have identical settings apart from the logon details.
-The other 2 accounts both send and receive emails without fail.
-The problematic email account has last received mail on the 12/12/2015 which is just over half a month ago.
-The same email account can send mail without any issues.
-OS: Windows 10 (by means of free online upgrade from previous version of Windows)
-Email Application: Windows Live Mail
-Error Message: "0x800CCC13" : "IXP_E_SOCKET_WRITE_ERROR Unable to read Winsock reply"
After continually receiving error msgs, have moved all my email folders to a remote hard drive and copied all my Live Mail accounts to that drive. Disconnected it from the computer. Went to Control Panel - Programs & Features - Uninstall Windows Essentials - Restarted computer. ...... then Reinstalled Windows Live Mail & once start it up again still has the same error msgs & the Windows Live Mail program still is setu[ the way I left it before I uninstalled it. When I right click on "Properties" it shows the date I probably first installed it in 2013.... yet I have uninstalled & reinstalled it 4 times!!!!! Urrgggghhhh! Any suggestions??
I know the program has huge problems from the threads I have read regarding Live Mail but if I could TOTALLY remove everything pertaining to it I might be ableto move forward. My computer just seems to be reinstalling old files.
Any suggest!ions are gratefully appreciated!!
