I've read several topics on this, but they were from 2012. Can't seem to find anything much more recent than that, so I thought I'd repost this question, to see if anything had changed.
I'm going to try to be as clear as possible: I want to open animated .gif files in Windows Live Photo Gallery.
I already have it set as my default program. This is not the issue. I keep seeing people post that as an answer, and it's simply blatantly beside the point.
When you open .gif files in Windows Live Photo Gallery, they display the first frame, and you can go through them frame by frame. I would like to disable that, and instead have it play the .gif file in it's full, animated form.
I do not want to use a different program. I like WLPG, and have been using it for a long time. I know how it works, and trust it.
Answers suggesting a different program will be ignored outright.
I read elsewhere that this feature was disabled because in the past it opened up a pretty major hole in the security of the system, allowing adware to run rampant.
In that same thread, one of the mods/admins/whatever you call them here posted a link to another program which can open them, apparently without the same security hole. So, this problem doesn't make any sense to me. Clearly it can be implemented in a safe manner,
as other programs manage just fine.
Even if this is not the case, I feel I should have the right to opt-in to the service if I want, and trust my adware blockers to protect me. Perhaps that's naive, but I'm just leaving all possible options open.
So, what I'm looking for is a codec, or add-on, or update, or even a mod.

I have a pretty large mailbox that for some reason has many duplicate mails. I think my original import from my Windows machine failed and the older mails from 2009 to 2011 appear at least twice in both "Sent" and "Inbox".
I've tried the AppleScript "Remove Duplicates v2.1" but it _always_ causes Outlook to crash, unless I select maybe 50 mails at a time. With 47,000 mails this is not a solution.
Is there a way I can remove these duplicates from the "Data Records" folder via some shell script and then rebuild the database?

I am running Windows 10 and in the past few days Windows Live Mail 2012 crashes shortly after opening when it is trying to update the calendars. Is this a bug that requires a fix? Is anybody else experiencing this problem?

I am using Windows 10 since some time now. We are having wifi at our organization along with the LAN connection which has cyberoam authentication client to connect to the internet.
Today when i tried to connect to cyberoam. It gets easily connected to cyberoam with login details but when i open new tab and open any website it doesnot open.
Please suggest me suitable help for the same.
At the end of every year, I have created new folder such as (this year) Inbox 2015 and Sent 2015 and moved the contents of the Inbox and Sent folders to the new ones. This year I can only move a few emails at a time without getting an "Unknown Error" message.
What can I do?

I recovered everything as everyone recommended. Now I have a large number of folders under my Recovered Items and want to move them back to there original location but can not just drag them up. What is the trick am I missing something?
I have connected with about 5 supposedly Microsoft Engineers on This forum who have requested various information and none has come back to me let alone fix the problem. How can I get this WLM 2012 on windows 7 to work with the new Outlook.com Preview!?

I recently got a new Lenovo E550 running Windows 7 Professional x64 and have noticed that when I open images in Windows Photo Viewer or Photo Gallery, the colors are too saturated, particularly the red tones. It does not matter if they are PNGs, GIFs, or Jpegs. However, when I do a slideshow of these same images, they look fine. They also look fine when opened in Irfan Viewer or Gimp, if I display them as the desktop background, and in Windows Explorer's thumbnail view.
I had attempted to calibrate the display color, but if I were to change these settings, all my other programs would look faded.
I've never had this problem on any of my computers, so it's possible it's a Lenovo issue; however, it seems isolated to Windows Photo Viewer and Photo Gallery.
Any tips?
After resolving several issues with WLM 2012 on Windows 10 over the last several weeks, it now appears that the synchronization process is broken. Several emails that I have deleted from the WLM Inbox still show up in the Outlook.com inbox.
Does anyone know how to force a sync process? I have closed and re-opened WLM several times to no avail.
