Since upgrading to windows 10 have had some other problems but WLM 2012 seemed ok. After using for some time all of a sudden a large group (8) storage folders disappeared from WLM. Have found folders on computer but cannot get them back into WLM, tried import, tried copy, but cannot get paste option in WLM when I right click on main storage folder. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Ok I tried this to get all my "Storage folders" folders/emails over to Windows 10 MAIL.
Move data to Outlook 2016 for Windows
If you choose to use the Outlook 2016 for Windows application, you can move data directly from Windows Live Mail into Outlook 2016. Refer to detailed instructions at Export Windows Live Mail emails, contacts, and calendar data to Outlook to learn how to move emails and contacts to Outlook 2016. Locally stored data can be moved from Windows Live Mail 2012 to Outlook 2016 before or after your Outlook.com account is upgraded.
This process moves your Windows Live Mail directly into your Outlook mail files.
- Open Microsoft Outlook.
- Open Windows Live Mail.
- In the Windows Live Mail window, click the File button and select Exportand then select Email messages.
- Select Microsoft Exchange as the format and then click Next.
- (AT this point I get a error message stating: "Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request.Please run Microsoft Outlookand set it as the default mail
client.) ??????????????????????????????????????
- You will see a message that all email will be exported to Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft Exchange, click Ok to continue.
- You can export all email folders or select the appropriate folders that you want to export by using the Select folders option.
- After you select the appropriate option, click OK and wait for the export process to be completed.
- When the Export Completedialog box appears, click Finish.
Does not work. When I highlight the folders and drag them to MAIL/Storage folders (which I created in W10 MAIL) nothing moves. All I get on the MAIL screen is the red circle for NO SMOKING.
The answers to this type of question are all old. Even the most recent queries (2016) have ridiculously ineffective, unhelpful responses from alleged Windows/Microsoft peeps. I have Windows 10, the latest version of Movie Maker, and my laptop has been
completely cleaned and updated recently (read: NO BUGS/VIRUSES). I purchased a new Canon Vixia camcorder LAST WEEK and used it to record reunion events, using the MP4 format to make it easier to share the files (than HD movies). I transferred the videos via
SD card onto my laptop into Windows Media Player, and they are saved in my Pictures files. Each file plays perfectly in Media Player and as a file in "Picture". But when I imported the videos into Windows Live Movie Maker (again, I have Windows 10--ugh),
I get NO AUDIO. These are "approved" file types for WMMaker. I don't want an answer that gives me a bunch of questions. I want a SOLUTION to this problem that is obviously a WINDOWS issue, since hundreds of people have complained about it for years. What's
the deal, and why hasn't this "bug" been fixed in Windows 10? Bottom line, am I going to have to purchase a "real" movie-making software program just because Windows can't get its act together? (Read: yes, I'm angry. I made movies using ancient versions
of movie maker years ago with zero problems, and it was much easier than the WMMaker version in Windows now.) Oh, and don't tell me to check my audio volume levels/speakers. Already done, repeatedly, for both the WMM and my laptop speakers/volume. [I'm
really a nice person; but seeing hundreds of people ask the same or similar questions for years and find little or no help from Windows to fix this problem of no audio after transferring videos into WMMaker, I get irritable and meannastyugly.]

In response to the recent email suggesting WLM 2012 users move to Outlook because of planned changes, I've been trying to move my local WLM 2012 files to my Outlook (MSN) account. I'm using Win 10.
Following Microsoft's instructions, I created a folder on my WLM 2012 MSN account and move messages into it. In the Outlook App, the new folder appears but it is empty. I click on the sync icon and I get no messages only the message "We didn't find anything to show here".
Any suggestions?
