I use Windows live 2011 to receive my e-mail.  I keep getting a notice saying Windows Live 2012 will no longer be available after end of June.  Will that effect Windows 2011?.

Original Title: live mail.

I'm trying to move folders from Live Mail to Outlook using click/drag or copy/paste, as recommended but neither work.

Can I add audio to a MM project before layering my images- I prefer to add to and shape the video to the soundtrack- not the other way around. In the old MM for XP that was no problem.

I work on about 30 computers or so and for the past couple of weeks a half a dozen or so has been having the same problem.

When they start Windows live Mail it just spins and spins. It doesn't even show up to be in the task manager.

On one of them I did a system restore and that would fix it for a day or two but then would go right back to the same problem. That one is a Dell Laptop.

The Dell Desktops the only way to get mail to come on is to pull the plug on the computer. Restarting has no effect, only by completely killing the power to the computers does the trick.

All computers have Windows 10 pro on them.

Some are connected to a domain and some are not.

I've repaired the program to have the next day end up with the same results.

I've reinstalled WLM and again the next day have the same results.

I've restored computers only to end up with the same results.

Nothing I've tried has had a permanent fix.

Who else is having these problems?

Folks

I am trying to assist a friend who has lost access to his local account (and hence his WLM Contacts) when MS tricked him to create a Windows Account (on WIn 10 environment) which in turn disable access to his local logon account

Unfortunately he was not able to logon to his laptop with the newly created Windows account (maybe due to the fact that he mistyped his new password too many times or maybe because the process failed fir other reasons)

Consequently he was locked out of his laptop (MS password reset didn't work either)

Following instructions provided by another member of this forum i was able to hack into the laptop and in so doing was able to create a new local admin account and using this account i was able to activate WLM (the laptop was originally a Win8 machine with WLM client)  and then recover all his email messages (although the old local account is no longer active the associated folders are still located under the Usersusername directory structure

I believe that the usual way to move contacts from one account to another is to use the export / import  process (probably via a CSV file) but this option is not available to me since i can't log onto the the old WLM environment

I tried to  locate the folder and file(s) where contact may be located under the old user file structure but with no luck (I can see all his EML files but what should one look for when chasing contact databases (I did come across some instruction  suggesting to look under ....windows live contacts  but i could not locate such files but maybe i missed something)

Can you advise me as to how i can recover the contact information    or how i can restore the WLM and WL Contacts in a case such as mine (account is no longer accessible but folders and related data is still all there)

One of my users who is using a MAC runs Outlook 2011 (fully updated) and when he creates a new email address it is not appearing as a recent address. I know within a Windows install of Outlook there is the .NK2 file that is created for each profile and sometimes you need to recreate this file. Would this be similar in 2011 for MAC users? If so what file is created and if copying the contents of the file then deleting it so it creates a new file when starting Outlook would this solve the issue?

Thoughts as always appreciated.

Regards

Steve

I have Windows Live Mail 2011.

I got the email saying "Action required for users of the Windows Live Mail 2012 application". Then it goes on to say.................It appears that you are currently using the Windows Live Mail 2012 application to connect to your Out‍look‍.‍com account. The Windows Live Mail 2012 application does not support the synchronization technologies used by the new Outl‍ook‍.‍com.

Since I have Windows Live Mail 2011, do I still have to make a change???
