Original Title: Live Mail folders in Windows 10

I like many others have been happily using the Windows Live email application on my Windows 7 computer. Microsoft have decided, in their wisdom, to insist that we change to Mail working under Windows 10. Problem is that I have many named sub-folders with important content in my existing Widows Live email. Its seems that I will have to 'upgrade' to 10, like it or not, if I am to continue to have a computer that has MS support for the next few years. My issue is, what happens to my many folder when I update the whole shooting match? Will I lose them or will they be in one contiguous file marked Inbox etc? I'm beginning to see why Mac's are so popular!

Any help would be much appreciated.

John

I installed WLM on my new Win10 PC.

I did copy over the Storage folders from an old-PC backup, but when I look under Storage Folders now many of the folders are missing, names are changed &/or cryptic, and all of the "senders" have "" quotes around the name.

Should I have transferred the Storage Folders some other way?

Is there something else I can do?

I no longer have access to (dead) old PC so can't run any kind of export there.

If this can't be fixed/gotten around, what should I do to access my mail archives?

Other s/w? or what?

Thanks for any help.

The message is: "To use the database, you must rebuild it using the Database Utility.

The Office database stores your personal information, such as the Scrapbook and Outlook messages and contacts. To continue, click Rebuild. After the rebuilding process is complete, close the Database Utility. Then the database will be available for your Office application".

It asks me to rebuild several times a day.  When I rebuild, I can access Outlook  but then it crashes again. How can I rebuild once and for all without this happening repeatedly?

I have been trying to use Windows Live Movie Maker for the first time, to rotate a video. The program was installed on a new laptop when purchased, I have not downloaded it.  The problem is when I click on 'add videos and photos' and select my video, it appears in the editing window but not in the clipboard window. No matter what I try it will not appear in that window, but when I click on to rotate it 90 degrees, a grey oblong appears in the clipboard window but no video. I have tried clicking on the play (>) button, the bar moves along the video thumbnail in the editing window, but still nothing in the clipboard view.  I have done everything I can find on various forums, including repairing all Windows Live Essentials, and checking for updates tells me my system is fully up to date.  Any ideas, please?   Thanks in advance

Hiya

I'm trying to play videos I've recorded and edit them with Movie Maker. However, some of these videos are in mp4 format, and I get an error ( 0xc00d36c4 ) when trying to play via Film and TV and Movie Maker fails to open the files.

I believe I'm missing the codec for each program. I am wondering - am I missing an update somewhere that includes the Mp4 codec? Or if not, is there any recommended applications which I might download to add these codecs?

Many thanks.
