Question about Outlook Express

hello,

what gives?  i upgraded to windows 10 pro, 64-bit almost a year ago.  i have never had problems with live mail 2012, not with xp or 7, both versions were pro.

i'm getting tired of deleting my hotmail account from live mail and reinstalling it.  i have to do this every 1-2 weeks because, eventually, it stops working.  if i go to my browser, the mail is there.

i've tried using the pop/imap/stmp settings as advised under options at the outlook.live.com page.  they work for a while, then stop working.  then i delete and reinstall the account from live mail, and every thing works well again for a while.  i have no issues with the yahoo account on live mail.

I have been searching the forum, and have not found an answer so far. 

I am trying to move some large email folders from WLM 2012 to  Outlook 2016. Midway through the export (at about 33560 out of 37645 emails) WLM stops and restarts. I delete the folder in outlook, try again, and it fails in the same place.  I moved the emails into a different folder on WLM.  However, exporting from the new folder now, the export fails at about 14900.

  I have repaired WLM per other threads.  I have WLM offline during the operations.

I suspect a corrupt email, and if I went through all 30000+ emails, found and deleted it, life would be great.  I am hoping there is a more automated way to fix such an email, which is the purpose of the post.

I have more than 1 large folder exhibiting this behavior.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Something terrible has happened.

I deleted all of my Inbox. The new Hotmail deletes an entire Inbox, when trying to only deleted the first Inbox page.

WHAT SHOULD I DO ?

I need to recover my old emails.

I continually have difficulty logging in to my outlook account. This problem has just started happening in the past couple of weeks. It doesn't matter what browser I use and it doesn't happen every time - about 90% of the time it happens. This is the message I get when I use Firefox "Firefox can’t find the server at outlook.live.com."  On GoogleChrome the message is: outlook.live.com’s server DNS address could not be found.

Our family was using one mail client - Windows Live Mail

We upgrade our computer to Windows 10 and WLM started failing to download.  In desperation, we began using the Mail App.

The mail app is chunky - really chunky.

The advantage for us was one mail client, multiple addresses.  Easy to receive mail on one and forward out on another.  Very easy to search across all email addresses in one place.

Now we have some email still happily chugging along in WLM, and others dying a slow death using mail app.

In mail app we are no longer able to reforward mail or search, each account is standalone

We were perfectly happy with Windows Essentials and are very peeved with mail app and its limitations.

What choices do we have?
