After the extensive update of Windows 10 on 21-09-2016 serious problem occurred: after the desktop loads, by left clicking on the windows 10 icon (bottom taskbar) nothing happens, i.e., I cannot open my entire apps list.  Right click's menu (power, run etc) opens normally.

I have windows 10 and since a change of password for a bt email it asks for the new password, which is 12 letters long and then it still comes up with out of date and when I go back into it, the password is 16 letters long, so it is not registering the new password for that account. It won't sync that email.

Any help would be appreciated.

Original title: I can't get my wlmp file to open in windows live media player

I was making a video earlier today for a client and spent well over 6 hours on it.

I have tried to open it on my home computer and it is saying that the file isn't compatible with the version of windows live movie maker I have.
"Sorry, Windows Movie Maker can't open this product file. the file might not be compatible with Windows Live Movie Maker or be corrupted. Please select a different project file.

How can I open this project in Windows Live Movie Maker?"
I then tried loading two old versions of windows movie maker, and it wouldn't load on those either.... I am at my wits end - I spent hours on this video and don't want to have to start over entirely.
I can't find a codec, I can't find an old version of windows live movie maker, and I can't find any way to salvage the project. Even if I had a way to turn the project to a video file I would be happy with, but nothing is working.

During a series of unproductive support sessions (not Microsoft), I ended up with Windows Live Mail instead of Outlook 2010; a poor trade.  I looked for hints, but I can't find a process name to kill the auto-start of Windows .Live Mail?.
