My windows 10 Mail service no longer updates.
This because I made some changes in Outllook to get my Windows Essential live mail to work again. Although it is no longer to be supported by Microsoft from January 2017.
I still value the Windows Essential mail as I have archived a number of old emails in various folders in it and they appear not to get synchronised to Windows 10 Mail so I can only use them in Windows Essentials live mail at present.
In 2016 the new DeltaSync protocol became the default configuration in Windows Live Mail for Microsoft email accounts (those @outlook, @hotmail, @live, @msn, @windowslive and any other free account with a mailbox at mail.live.com).
To fix server the error in Windows essentials live mail '3219' 'Unable to send or receive messages to the Outlook account' a few months back I created a second mail account in my Outlook using IMAP protocol to re-synchronize my live mail again with mail folders and messages in my Outlook Mail servers.
Extract of instructions followed form link https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windowslive/wiki/livemail-email/windows-live-mail-and-outlook-mail/6edb5ba6-f9f2-40fd-80a1-fc23cc6fbfe0
Set up a new IMAP account
- When viewing your message list, press Ctrl-Shift-T to start the Add your email accounts wizard.
- Enter your email address, password and display name for outgoing messages.
- Select Manually configure server settings and click Next.
- For the incoming server, select IMAP from the dropdown.
For the incoming server address, enter imap-mail.outlook.com and change the port number to 993.
Select Requires a secure connection (SSL).
For Authenticate using, select Clear text from the dropdown.
For Log-on username, enter the full email address. - For the outgoing mail server address, enter smtp.live.com and change the port to 587.
Select Requires a secure connection (SSL) and Requires authentication. - Click Next and Finish.
The original account uses the DeltaSync as its the default and the now account uses the IMAP.
Can anyone advise me please on what instructions I should follow to get Windows 10 Mail back as well.
I have wlm 2012 running on Windows 10/64. Have about 5.5gb of emails to copy across.
Outlook 2016/32 installed and works insomuch as new emails are arriving into it.
However following the procedure for importing emails from wlm2012, I have opened both systems, specify export emails via the microsoft exchange option, the the process starts and then fails after importing 320 of 7500 emails into the inbox (I also do
have a number of subfolders which aren't copied across either). tried it twice with the same result.
Okay I've just checked and confirm that the import fails at the point where the external pop3 server is retaining emails (ie set not to delete for 14 says); ie it starts to transfer emails held on the pop3 server first, before falling over.
So three additional questions.
1. Should I delete all emails off the pop3 server first?
2. And/or turn off the internet connection before trying to import emails?
3. Should I call Microsoft as this is a brand new version of Office, only had it 2 days?
Thanks for advice
I really need help, I have been looking through the Q&As, but they just seem to not help, it says that I already have it once I tried to redownload Movie Maker, but somehow it isn't in my files, desktop, anything!
Trying to figure out what was the problem, in the Control Panel, I tried to look for the application in the Uninstall Program, but it isn't there either.
It's as if it was invisible, I redownloaded Windows Essentials around maybe 15+ times, so frustrating, need help ASAP, will try to be active to reply if the solutions told don't work. Thanks.

I'm using Windows Live Mail as my email client under Windows 10
In anticipation of upgrading to Outlook.com, I'm following the Export advice offered in https://support.microsoft.com/en-ie/kb/980534.
Having selected "File/Export" and confirming "Microsoft Exchange" I get an error "There is no email program associated to perform the requested action. Please instal . . . "
What exactly is meant by "the requested action"? When I go to the Program association window, I cannot determine what "actions" I should be associating or with what program/App. (It's hardly "email" since this is obviously installed and demonstrably working since it was WLF that generated the error in the first place)
Any help getting over this obstacle will be appreciated.
