(opening email page changed this morning to a completley different appearance. E- mails are shown but unable to open. What happened?

When I try to access  e-mail a completely different looking page appears.  It does not have a list of folders and the top part is blank.  E-mails are shown for inbox,

but will not open.  This happened following an MSN update.  I removed the update - no change.  I used restore to go to an earrlier date; again no change.  I have 6 new e-mails showing, but unable to open either new or previousl viewed e-mails.
