Question about Outlook Express

After adding my Gmail account to Outlook 2011 it works great for a while (hours to days), but invariably gets hung up, producing multiple types of error (most often "server timed out") or just limbo including (see A, B, C, below). This usually requires that I shut down outlook and/or reboot the machine, and then it usually works again. I have tried multiple other settings and configurations based on online recommendations pertaining to IMAP settings, port selections, changing the name of the incoming server, changing the Gmail settings online, changing firewall settings, rebuilding and repairing outlook databases, etc.., but am still stumped. Is anyone having the same problems??

I am running Mavericks, and Outlook has all the recommended updates. Other settings (D-H) are included for reference. Help please!

Hello everyone.  My first ever post - so be nice guys!

Help!  I have Office for Mac 2011 (version 14.4.1) on Mac OS 10.7.5.  I also have a new PC laptop, and a brand new Microsoft Office 365 account.

On my mac, there are lots of nice local folders in a hierarchy within Outlook under "on my computer" on the left hand side.

My question: how do I sync up what I see in Outlook on my mac (including these local folders) with Office 365?  Can I see exactly the same on any computer either running Office 365 or through Office.com?

Please forgive me if the answer is basic, I'm new to all this and it's very confusing.

I have successfully used Outlook 2011 with my personal Gmail account for some time.

Recently I tried to add a second Gmail account for my work email address and keep getting an error message:

"The server for account "xxxx" returned the error "Invalid credentials j20mb4919854wiv." Your username/password or security settings may be incorrect. Would you like to try re-entering your password?"

I have:

1. Enabled IMAPaccess within the Gmail account settings

2. Followed Google's instructions for setting up a new IMAP account

3. Checked whether there are any differences between the setting on my personal account, and the new work account which would explain the problem.

Any ideas about what is going wrong?
