I've added a POP account to Outlook Mac solely for the STMP server (since we use it with our eFaxing service to FAX out). Is there a way I can turn off the inbound POP portion of it and use it solely as an STMP (outgoing account)? Right now we get a lot of error messages in Outlook Mac saying "cannot retrieve mail".

Thanks!

I was using outlook on windows since years. Recently i purchased macbook and with the hope of same features i also purchased license of Outlook for Mac 2011. But i am very disappointed due to some basic features.

I have multiple accounts and each account required a different signature, I have configured default signature for each account. BUT, whenever i create a new email, signature of my default email account appears. For changing signature, i have to select the signature from signature option, but it don't automatically remove the previous signature, instead, it appends the new signature in text area.  How can this behavior can be controlled.

When replying to email, i need short signature, how can i configure that whenever i reply an email, my short signature should appear according to email account ?

Junk Email protection is not as efficient as in outlook for windows. any suggestions ?

Thanks,

The server i am connected to just lost every email of mine. I searched for the files on User>Documents>Microsoft User Data>Office 2011 Identities and nothing is there. Only empty folders like 0M, 0T, 0B, etc...

Where can i find my emails? Is there a PST or OST or something else hidden file somewhere?

Thanks for the help.

Hi there,

I am using Outlook 14.4.2 with Exchange. For a long time I am trying to delete an old category name called My Contacts. This category seems to be from old Pre-iSync workflow. When I remove the category from the preference settings it comes back a couple of seconds later. I've search for that category term within outlook however I am unable to find it. It's no longer attached to any vCard contacts.

What else can do to get rid of the old category name?

Thanks for your help.

Although I have figured out of to display the Outbox, I keep receiving a message from the connected Gmail account about a message too large to be sent.

However, my outbox is empty and I don't know how to remove it.

Any hint?

Thanks

Andrea

Am moving over from an old Windows 7 computer to a brand-new iMac.  Got Office 2011 under the Home Use Program, installed it, setup my email accounts (Comcast and Me.com), then...went to import my rather large PST files from the Windows computer.

Pretty much shocked that they didn't import into the new mailboxes--but, I can live with that, as I work with multiple PST files at work all the time.  However, the messages now have screwed up dates, and don't sort right (many older, some years older, messages now have the date/time of the import, and don't sort right at all (I usually sort from newest to oldest)).

What do I need to do to fix this issue?  Pretty much blows my mind that this just didn't work, since the same vendor wrote both products.

Thanks!

Today I installed Office 365 on my Mac, opened Outlook, added one e-mail account and now wish to add additional  e-mail accounts.  The Help pages I have seen addressing how to do this all begin "click on Tools and select Accounts to get the Account Dialogue Box." When I click on Tools I do not get a drop down menu, I get a row of icons, none relating to Accounts.  The "live" Icons I have are: My Day, Sync Services, Schedules, Progress, Errors.  I also have inactive icons: Out of Office, Public Folders, Import, Export, Mailing Lists, Online Mode.

Any help appreciated.

In Outlook 2010 for the PC there is a missing scroll bar on the contact details form when the screen is too small to show the entire form. This can be seen by opening a contact and restoring the form down to a small size. See this thread.

For the Mac, could someone post a screenshot whether the scroll bar exists or not please?
