Hi,
Since about two weeks my Outlook for Mac 2011 has become difficult to work with: opening and closing messages takes very long and even while writing messages the dreaded spinning coloured wheel appears for long seconds... I have upgraded to Outlook version 14.4.3 however no change. I have a lot of space left on my harddrive (182GB), and I keep my my inbox and sentbox close to empty. When I work offline, everything goes lightning quick, as I was used to while working online. I work on a MacBook Air, OS X 10.9.3, 1.3 GHz Intel processor, 4 GB 1600MHz DDR3. What could be the problem and how can I fix it?
Thanks,
Erwin
I have been struggling to find a solution to this problem.
I have created a simple IMAP email account for a new email address. As far as I know, the account is set up to run properly (incoming, outgoing, ports, etc). For some reason Outlook is automatically moving a new message from the IMAP account's Inbox to the IMAP account's Trash, and making a copy of the new message on my local computer's Inbox. This completely defeats the purpose of using an IMAP system.
I have no rules or schedules mucking anything up. This a fresh install of Outlook 2011 and it's updated to the most current version, however I did import quite a large email backlog from Entourage when I upgraded. But that was ONE email account that had been using a POP system for a very long time. I don't want to use that POP system anymore, and created this IMAP account fresh along with the update.
I simply want the IMAP mail to stay on the server like it's supposed to.

Hi,
Mac OS X 10.8.5
Outlook 2011 14.4.2
Gmail IMAP account setup
I followed all of Gmail's imap setup instructions. Randomly, some user accounts will not receive email for 30-45 mins and then all the emails come through at once. No large attachments in the mix. Schedule is set to send/receive every minute. 30 users, and does not happen to everyone.
Gmail, iPhone, Apple Mail shows emails coming in without delays. Only Outlook has the delays.
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?
Anytime I restart or turn on my computer Microsoft Office 2011 for MAC opens...PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook. I have changed setting so this will not happen, but it continues to happen. Please help.
Thanks!
THis morning i created an Archive folder, there was an error when it was created. So i tried to delete the folder, so i could try to create a new one. The folder did not delete and then has continued to recreate folders...for example the folder name was Partner, the error occurred and not i have Partner 1, Partner 11, Partner 111, and so on...it created about 20+ folders and is creating them every couple of minutes. I have been able to create other archives, with no problems. But i cannot get this folder to delete to stop generating new folders.
