After running windows update and getting These Updates:

Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems
Installation date: ‎11/‎11/‎2013 13:35

Definition Update for Microsoft Security Essentials - KB2310138 (Definition 1.161.1874.0)
Installation date: ‎11/‎11/‎2013 13:35

My computer had me restart to finish installing updates. Once I'd done that, SkyDrive crashes on start up. I tried uninstalling and re-installing it... but even the installer crashes. ;?
Does anyone know if Skydrive keeps back up files? One of my computers got attacked by Trojan.ransom file and now my skydrive files are locked. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Please help.

My Skydrive on Surface Pro 2 is horribly broken. Can Someone from MS please advise.

- Nothing syncs
- Initially, a bunch of files were stuck in 'downloading' even though their status was 'completed'. I manually deleted those files and they went away but still nothing would sync.
- Skydrive Sync process Host keeps crashing every time I toggle offline files to on, this is only visible in desktop not in metro.

I've tried
- Moving Skydrive folder to somewhere else and back again
- Turning skydrive off in Group Policy and on again
- Running self help troubleshooter (it fails to restart service)
- Deleting everything in skydrive folder on the PC in conjunction to disabling/reenabling in group policy (i.e. clean slate)
- Everything in the stupid FAQ

Please do not send me a precanned response with the standard level 1 stuff (restart try system restore etc.) I have tried everything short of a full format, which I can't do, as the surface pro 2 restore image is apparently broken (http://www.examiner.com/article/surface-pro-2-reset-bug-plagues-end-users-no-blessed-fix-from-microsoft-yet).

I have two user accounts both which use their skydrive id to login to the computer.  Since I have don this both of the accounts have each others folders in their accounts.  It is like the skydrive account have been merged.  How do you keep your skydrive account information separate in windows 8.1.  ie.  login *** Email address is removed for privacy ***  keep their login and skydrive seperate.  *** Email address is removed for privacy ***.  I do have all of my documents on a seperate drive and have moved the skydrive location.  Is their a way to move all skydrive account information to a different hard drive on the same pc and keep them separate?
I mistakenly clicked on a link in my email linking to my hotmail account. Realizing I had possibly clicked on a suspicious link, I went to the Hotmail login site to change my password. When I tried logging in to my account, it says that that "The Microsoft account is incorrect. Please try again." So I went to password recovery link, entered in my email account, and typed in the security characters, and received the same message "The Microsoft account is incorrect. Please try again." My account was just working and now I cannot login or change my password. Is it possible my account has been hacked? What can I do? I'm totally locked out of my email account. Please advise.

I've searched around on these forums for this question and I have found similar discussions... but I want to ask it again (on behalf of my wife).

Our ISP had recently been bought out by another company and was sun-setting our email accounts.  We both have MS accounts that were setup with these ISP based email accounts as the primary alias.  My wife misunderstood (or I gave bad instructions) on adding a new alias to this account and removing the old email address.  Instead, she created a new MS account and proceeded to update all of her various email subscriptions to this new account/alias.

Is there a way a MS person can help to move the new alias to the old account and then close out the newly created (accidental) account?  I understand that you can drop the alias, wait 30 days, add the alias to the other account, and then delete the new (accidental) account.  But, this email alias is very active and it would be incredibly inconvenient to have to create another temporary alias, switch to it, and then in 30 days switch back to the other alias.

Can someone help?  Please?  :)

Hello,

I'm the webmaster and communications manager for the Indiana chapter of SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers). I regularly need to contact our professional members for upcoming events etc. I recently switched to outlook to manage my emails. But, I can't seem to send my invite to > 200 people in a day.

Can you please help me address this? Our member base here is > 700 persons. If I'm unable to email them in one go, I'm afraid I'll have to switch to another provider.

Thanks,

SAE Indiana Comm Manager
