So last night I unlock my windows phone and see that my girlfriends contact tile as well as my group tile for friends and family were no longer on my start screen.  I thought maybe it was just a weird glitch and all I would have to do is pin them all to the start screen again but when I went into the people hub and into my contact list they were all no longer there.  Any contacts that had been saved to my outlook.com account had vanished.  All that was left on my phone were my facebook and linkedin contacts.

I then went onto my computer and signed into outlook.com and all of those contacts were nowhere to be found in People there either.

On top of that I had created a room on windows phone for me and my girlfriend but when I go into the room the only member I see is myself.

My Microsoft account won't always sync to my phone anymore and it doesn't sync my outlook.com contacts at all because they've somehow been erased.  I went into people on outlook.com, manage contacts and then "restore deleted contacts" but it said there were no deleted contacts to restore.

I was using my outlook.com account to store all of my friends and family phone numbers and emails and now they are all gone.

What's more is that my Microsoft account is shown as "not up to date" on my phone and when it's not syncing it even affects my ability to do bing searches and even open up websites in IE and will even stop the people hub newsfeed from updating.

I don't know what to do!  Someone help!!!

I have recently installed the SkyDrive app on a new Windows 8 laptop and noticed that all my Office documents are now corrupted and I can't open them. PDFs and images on my SkyDrive are working fine. I get the same "corrupt file" error whether I open them from local synced folder or from skydrive.com. I guess my question is whether there is a workaround to fix this issue or if I can recover previous versions of my files.
Hi-

I am unable to receive email on my computer, but I am able to send them. I am, however, able to send and receive email on my phone.

I am using Outlook 2007 on a Windows 8 computer. I do have POP accounts but nothing has changed recently and the last email i received was yesterday at 5:30pm when I usually receive over 100 emails a day and like I said, am able to get them on my phone.

This is the third time this has happened. The two previous times, I just magically started getting emails again. What is the problem?
At least once a day when trying to open Hotmail, I get a request for my password and phone number for verification.  It also want questions answered but I can ship this section at least for the next 4 days.  What is going on ??????

Thanks
A few months ago, when accessing my outlook email at mail.umkc.edu, I got an error message that said the following:
This account can't be used to access Outlook.com
You're currently signed in with an Office 365 email account, which can't be used with Outlook.com. Please click here to sign out of your Office 365 account, then use another Microsoft account to sign in to Outlook.com (for example, your hotmail.com, live.com, or msn.com account).

I have no clue what office 365 is. I don't use anything like that. I have a hotmail account of my own, and one through my school. The school has told us nothing about Office 365. I don't even have a current version of office on my computer. This was a random message. I fought with it for awhile, using different browsers, dumping all my cache and history, gave up, and went to bed. Next morning, like magic, it worked again.
Last night. 9/12/2013, a friend posted on facebook that her outlook account was also down, with the same weird Office 365 message. She also does not use office 365 anything, but it was a .edu address. I told her about my experience, we hunted for a solution, and then she decided to wait. It was worrisome, as she couldn't do anything with her online classes, get emails from staff, etc.  All we found were references to it being a *.edu problem, but no fixes, and the reports went back months to years.
Today, mine is now dead again. I am getting the same message, about something called "office 365."  My other hotmail account logged in fine. But the school account? Completely unaccessible. Not by chrome, not by firefox, not by IE. As that's how I get my work notifications, this is a big problem.
I open outlook. I enter in my email address, @mail.umkc.edu and I type in the password. And then...Office 365 error.
I have hunted through the forums and there is no working solution to this, the link to a page that fixes it directs somewhere that no longer exists, and this seems to have been an ongoing problem for a year-plus. Is there any solution? Or do I just have to wait until it somehow begins to function again, and hope it's not five days or two weeks down the road? Is it my school messing up on their end, or a microsoft bug? As it's Friday afternoon and they've all gone home, I can't even get ahold of the UMKC tech support for this. Can I fix this? Can MS fix this? Or is the problem on the school's end, in which case I am entirely out of luck?
Need to get on my email to open links for classwork.  I have tried all of the options listed in your generic response found on threads where others have had the same issue.  When I try to access the outlook page, I get this:
You're currently signed in with an Office 365 email account, which can't be used with Outlook.com. Please click here to sign out of your Office 365 account, then use another Microsoft account to sign in to Outlook.com (for example, your hotmail.com, live.com, or msn.com account).

I have also tried to sign into my account on other computers but I still get the same response.  My email is *** Email address is removed for privacy ***
PLEASE HELP ASAP
Outlook made me change my password because of a supposed "security issue" and I forgot to write it down and I forgot it the next time I went to log in so I had to change it again. When I was sent a link to an alternate email address the link wouldn't work. I tried accessing the link at a later time like it said, I actually tried multiple times a day for days in a row but it still wouldn't work. Then I tried filling out a form with all the info I could possibly give and I gave everything I could considering I could still see and read all my old emails from having been logged in on my phone but that still wasn't good enough and outlook wouldn't give me authorization! Please help I use that email for all my college and Billing stuff, I need it recovered asap!
If I want to switch from Outlook to the MAC email, how can I transfer all the folder, contacts, etc???

I realize there are some discussions about this already, but most of them are from before MS decided to no longer support linked accounts.

So the question goes as follows:

I have an old @msn.com account with 25GB of Skydrive storage

When outlook.com was released I made a new @outlook.com account, but with only 7GB of Skydrive storage.

Is there, or will there be a way of merging those 2 accounts so that

the old @msn.com account is now a alias under your new @outlook.com account

and you have the 25GB Skydrive storage from your old account

I've read many thread all over the internet about this, lots of people with this same question.

What are our options?

I am using Windows Live Mail 2009, with my outlook.com account. About 2-3 times each day, it says my account has been locked, and I need to change my password. How do I get this fixed? It's been occurring since my account was created. I posted this question on another Microsoft community site, but they say to clear my browsers' cache - I'm not using a browser.
