Outlook 2013 Won’t Add Calendar Items to Outlook.com When Created in a Disconnected State

Hello,

I have an issue where calendars items aren't always posted to Outlook.com.  

I am using Outlook 2013 with an Outlook.com account.  New calendar items are not always posted to Outlook.com and therefore they don't get pushed to my phone.  I have found that if I am not connected to the internet and Outlook 2013 says Disconnected in the bottom right and I create a new calendar item, when I do connect back to the internet, the calendar is not created on Outlook.com.  

For some reason it appears Outlook 2013 won't add items to Outlook.com if they were created while in the disconnected state and then you later connect.  So it makes working offline difficult.  And this is not the issue when working with an Exchange account / backend server.

The work around I found is if I am in disconnected, I must first manually work offline by clicking Work Offline in the Send / Receive, create my calendars items.  Then when I do get back online, I must manually switch to online by clicking the Work Offline.  Then it seems the items are added to Outlook.com and eventually pushed down to my phone.

Any ideas what is going on?


Outlook security code not working

Hello,

I am having a problem with the Outlook security code.

When I signed on my Hotmail account, I got a window saying that you need a security code.

I tried to send them my mobile phone number to text me the security code, but Outlook never sent me any text message.

So I tried to my alt e-mail. I got the message with the code inside. So I tried the code, it says it's invalid. I tried this twice already, and outlook just won't take the code.

Soooo, what's going on here? Am I going to be locked out of my e-mail account?

I have been trying to recover my locked out Hotmail account since 23rd July
The link for me to view the progress reports  from the contact support "escalation team"
has been removed  
Has my request been unilaterally "closed" or is it still active ?
And if it is still active how do I access information as to what Microsoft is actually doing ?

Outlook for Mac and Outlook.com not syncing

Hi everyone,

Outlook.com looks cool but ironically Mac users that purchased and use Outlook2011 as email client don’t stand a chance to have a decent email service.

 

Here’s the deal: i do have Outlook.com configured as IMAP in order to keep messages in sync on more devices.

Email messages hit my inbox (using Outlook2011 for Mac) with a few minutes delay; according to an Outlook.com employee this happens because their service does support IMAP but does not support IMAP IDLE extension which allow real time fetching of email messages.

Apparently the guys in Redmond were able to offer real time fetching and/or active sync capabilities to all major email clients available on the market but not to MS Outlook for Mac.

 

I would kindly like to know if there is any workaround on Outlook2011 for Mac to have Outlook.com as IMAP and real time fetching.

And if there is any plan in sight to update Outlook2011 to provide full EAS capability.

COULD NOT GET ACCESS TO MY EMAILS OUTLOOK ASK FOR A CODE THAT I RECEIVE BY PHONE PUT THE CODE AND IT WORK.. THE LAST DAY

how do I mark birthdays as private

All my birthdays have been imported from my contacts to my calendar, which is fine, but I do not see a setting where I can mark them private? Also, reading the other questions, it isn't entirely clear to me who can see my calendar entries that are not marked private. If I do not share my calendar with anyone, can other people access it?

Again, can you get the “next four weeks” view? Is it really that difficult to implement?

The old Windows Live calendar had this feature, and it was so much more convenient to plan appointments.

I asked this question a year ago, as did others.  

Is it really that difficult to re-implement this useful feature that no longer exists?
