This Windows banner has started appearing at top of all emails containing attachments, both sent & received, and I cannot access any attachment - even the ones I have sent! All the attachments are wholly innocuous.
I have a Dell IR5 laptop approx. 15 months old, running pre-installed Windows 7, Windows Live, Internet Explorer and MS Word Starter 2010.
All updates are installed up to date. All settings are default- except that recently I was prevented from accessing any docs in my Documents folder
by a MS popup telling me I had to buy another MS product to access my documents. I consulted the MS online forum & learned this was result of a faulty update & could be fixed by changing a setting - which I did.
I see from this forum that the problem with the attachments might be fixed by disabling Windows security - but surely this is not an acceptable fix.
Even the Windows help page says that unchecking the virus protection is not recommended!
What has caused this problem & how can it be fixed without compromising security?
I've recently noticed that some e-mails that are not junk mail are being incorrectly sent to my junk mail folder. Such e-mails include promotional deals from companies I normally shop from, e-mail updates from Twitter, and even e-mails from the company that provides my cellular service. In fact, the e-mails I get with my monthly cell bill doesn't even get into my account anymore (inbox or junk mail). I had to contact the company because I never got a bill and had to ask them to credit a late charge. My e-mail address on my account with them is correct and they are on my "safe senders" list. Other e-mails from them (not bill related) have been going to my junk mail.
I'm not sure why this is happening, but I think it's possibly because I normally see the subject line from an e-mail address, and if I know what it is about and am not interested in that particular e-mail, or if I see that it's a bill and I know when to pay it, I delete it without opening it. Is it possible that this is confusing Outlook and sending any future e-mails from that address to my junk mail?
I'd really like for this to be fixed. It's been months and I'm still not receiving my bill, and it's not an issue from their end (the phone company). And I don't want to potentially miss an important e-mail from other companies because they are incorrectly going into my junk mail.
Thanks for any help that anyone can provide.

I have repeatedly attempted to log in to my email: *** Email address is removed for privacy *** over the past few weeks. I have repeatedly tried to do the security question but it always says that my answer is wrong; and I cannot do the questionnaire about my email since the email is for offers from stores and companies, so I don't tend to send emails to people, just receive special offers and such. Also, I cant be emailed a reset password because I didn't use a different email when I signed up, so it only gives me the option to send the email to the account I'm locked out of. It wasn't until a few days ago that I really tried to get back into the email account because I have to reset my twitter password, but its linked to this email, and since I cant get it, I cant access my twitter. Is there anyway I can call someone to get this figured out as soon as possible. I need to recover my account or at least retrieve specific emails (for my twitter). Because I set up the email about 7 or 8 years ago, I partially remember the information I put in and the answers when I signed up, but I would need a person on the phone if I were to validate that its my account.
Sincerely,
Morgan S
