When I click on a hyperlink on an email I get a message saying,' This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator', which is me. This has only been happening for a couple of month. How can I access this link again please? Mike
Hello,

I have tried adding Windowslive accounts(*** Email address is removed for privacy ***) to WLM with these two ways:
First: via choosing the sever type "Windows Live Hotmail" Or The 'http' server which automatically was chosen after finishing adding the account.

This is error while choosing 'windows live hotmail' as incoming sever type::
Unable to send or receive messages for the Windowslive (xxxxxx) account.

Server Error: 0x80048849
Server: 'https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x80048849

This error while when I let WLM complete the settings with Http sever

Unable to send or receive messages for the Windowslive (XXX) account.

Server Error: 0x80048820
Server: 'https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x80048820

Second: via choosing  incoming mail sever 'POP3' whose sever address is  'pop.windowslive.com' and port 995
Also, outgoing mail sever(SMTP) whose sever address is:  'SMTP.windowslive.com' with the port 465.

However, this error showed me::

Unable to send or receive messages for the Windowslive (XXX) account. The host 'pop.windowslive.com' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly.

Server: 'pop.windowslive.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0D
Protocol: POP3
Port: 995
Secure(SSL): Yes
Socket Error: 11004

Although I have activated the 'pop' in windowslive account, this didn't no difference.

All I want to do is reset the password for Windows Live Mail and I keep getting the message via email:  "We are unable to reset your password because you have not provided enough information."
All I want to do is reset the password for Windows Live Mail and I keep getting the message via email:  "We are unable to reset your password because you have not provided enough information."
I am unable to access my outlook emails. I get the following error message 'Sorry, there seems to be a problem with outlook right now'

I am able to access other services such as Calendar. I have already done the following:
  • Logged in with different browsers, Safari, Chrome & Firefox
  • Checked that all browsers are up to date.
  • Cleared my Cache right back to 'the beginning of time'
I am able to access my other outlook account fine & my partner is able to access his.

Please let me know how to resolve this problem - it's incredibly frustrating as the error message provides no clue as to what the problem could be.

Thanks,
Sarah
I've tried adding a new account, but I think it's hung up because of the looping calendar update process.  I hope I don't have to reconfigure and download my files again.  I did this when it happened previously had to buy several network tokens to get enough bandwidth to finish the job.  I'm going to be out of country for some time starting this weekend and I have little confidence in Live Mail.  I love it when it works, but it seems heavily laden with problems.  I need it to work now.
Why do I have to verify every time I want to send an email?  This is ridiculously frustrating.
I have Live Mail that retrieves and sends e-mails through my Comcast web mail account.  It worked fine for more than a year, but suddenly the Live Mail only retrieves incoming e-mails every few hours.  Also, the incoming e-mails were formerly automatically deleted from my Comcast web mail when they were transferred to my Live Mail, but that feature also stopped working.

When I try to send e-mails with Live Mail, they go to the Outbox, and sometimes are sent after some hours and sometimes not.  If I try to re-send them, the Live Mail status window (with the "Tasks" and "Errors" tabs) replaces the Live Mail window, indicating under "Tasks" that it is "executing" the attempt to send the e-mail, but the only way that I can stop it and get the main Live Mail window to open is to re-start the computer.

It may be coincidental, but these problems started when I received a message from Comcast to change the password for access to my Comcast web mail.. I did that, and entered the new password in the appropriate place in my Windows Live Mail controls.  As I said, Live Mail sometimes receives and sometimes sends e-mails, but not reliably.
where do you find junk mail in Hotmail?
