I'm not good at explaining myself briefly so bear with me. Here's the long winded version. Basically my problem is that I want to delete some of my older contacts from my Hotmail contact list. When I try I get a little box with this in it "Some of this contact's info comes from another service. You'll need to delete the contact there to keep it from showing up here." It also has their picture and it says Facebook below that. Now, before you tell me to delete them from Facebook and unsync Facebook from Hotmail here's where it gets interesting: I don't have any of these people on Facebook anymore, nor do I have outstanding Facebook friend requests for or from them AND my Hotmail is not linked to my Facebook or any other service. I've checked all this. These are people I haven't spoken to or had any form of contact with in years. I even deleted Skype in case that was the problem. The only other factor involved is that I just got a new mobile phone with Windows 8 on it. I don’t have these people’s phone numbers anymore either but I thought it was worth a mention since my phone address book now annoyingly enough seems to be linked to my Hotmail contacts. If somebody could figure this out and get back to me it would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance :)

After a new hard drive was installed and Windows was completely reinstalled, Windows Live Mail worked for about 1 day. Then, after some Windows Updates installed, it stopped working again.
I can't help but think that this is related to a Windows update, but, since no one else seems to be having the same issue, I am mystified.
Specific issues include:
1. Clicking on the sign in icon causes the box to pop up, but it is empty. (ie, no username and password boxes, etc.)
2. I monitor 6 email accounts. Clicking on an account in the left sidebar does not lead to that account showing up in the main panel. (Sometimes nothing happens, sometimes I get another random account instead.)
3. The dropdown arrows on the left panel do not open/close the individual email accounts so that I can see/hide the folders within each account.
4. Send/receive does work, but if I read and delete a message, it does not decrease the unread message count.
Before my hard drive installation, I uninstalled and reinstalled WLM more times than I can count.
Does anyone have any ideas how I can make this work? I really like WLM, but if I can't get it working within the next few days, I'm going to have to try something else.

I made my hotmail account a few years ago and not I cannot access it. I recently changed my email password and I have forgotten the password. Also i cant remember ANY of the answers to the security questions.This email it just for my personal use, I dont
use it to email others. I have tried to do the forgotten password, also i have filled in the form to retrieve my password, but since it is automatic and i don't remember my information it is not going through.I also don't remember the secret question I have

Does anyone know how to set up my MSN email, in Outlook, so that I know when my sent email was received...and opened ...and viewed??
My mother has an Outlook.com-based email account. (It was originally a Hotmail account.) When she selects an email and clicks "Archive"--either the Archive menu item at the top or the Archive button in the action bar--the selection advances to the next
email but the previously email isn't actually archived. In other words, it's still exactly where it was. What's wrong? How can I diagnose and fix the problem?
I've seen articles saying that the first time you click Archive it's supposed to ask you where things should be archived to. I have no idea what happened the first time she clicked it. All I can say is that clicking it now seems to do nothing. (I also
can't find anything that tells you how to find out where archived emails are being sent.)

A client of mine using Live mail on Custom Domains says they can receive email, except from certain specific addresses.
The client says that the emails have not gone to their junk folder and the sender has not received a bounce notification.
What steps should be taken to ensure that emails from these senders will be received?

Windows Live Mail Calendar won't keep updating and yet doesn't update. I have read numerous posts and no luck. I have closed out mail, made sure no mail is stuck, went and repaired Window Essentials, uninstalled and reinstalled Window Essentials and
nothing has helped. It works fine on my other PC but no my desktop.
