Windows Live Mail FAQ
As of yesterday, Windows live mail will not open. If I try to open it, the whole computer freezes up and I have to do a forced shutdown. I tried virus scans, rebooting, and updating the windows live essentials. I have not tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program though, I am afraid that I will lose all my mail folders and saved emails. Any advice? Thanks!

Hello, I've had my account hacked before where someone gets in an sends mail to all my contacts, but I can see those in the sent folder at least. The difference this time is I see NOTHING in my sent folder, and yet I'm getting all sorts of failed sending attempts from my hotmail.com address in my inbox and jumk. I've heard people can fake my email address and send something out that comes back to my real address as undeliverable, but these ARE going to all MY contacts - not just random other email addresses.
I've changed my password this most recent time and it hasn't stopped.
Any thoughts? Thanks!
I am using Windows Live Mail Version 2011 (Build 15.4.3555.0308).
I've just had my computer repaired. Namely, my old hard drive was about to die and so I had an image created of it and put onto a brand new hard drive.
Now when searching for messages in Windows Live Mail, I receive the following message: 'Search results may be incomplete while Mail scans your messages.'
Furthermore, no search results appear.
I suspect that this is some kind of indexing issue.
Could someone please help?
